How much money would you throw at Brett Stewart?

If you look at all the players Ricky Stuart might be close to that are off-contract there is one very obvious big name. Brett Stewart.

If Hayne moves to six, you want the best one you can lay your hands on. As others have noted, fullbacks are incredibly influential in today's game and it's no coincidence that Manly with and without Brett Stewart are two very different teams.

As far as I'm concerned Stewart is not far off Slater for impact in a game. His electric pace turns half-chances into tries and having someone with his pace makes it far easier to formulate backline movements because you only need to create a little space and he will go through it.

The contracts that have been talked about for Stewart appear to be in the $450k per year space. I think he's a steal at that price. Stewart is a player who you win premierships off the back of, and the thought of Stewart sweeping around the back of Jarryd Hayne is quite simply mouth-watering. Who do you take? Man up on Hayne and Stewart will slice through your, take Hayne one-on-one and he'll beat you everytime or jam in and Hayne will beat you with the cut-out pass.

Hopoate when he gets here, would find a home in the centres to complete that dream backline.

I've previously said our number one priority needed to be a marquee second rower however that's been based on the assumption that Hayne would stay at one. If Hayne is at six, we want the best fullback we can find and that's Brett Stewart and I don't think he's overpriced.

500k plus, n i think he would be worth every cent of that, get rid of poore on 350k ,throw another 150k on n we could have stewart who is worth his weight in gold and imo a much better full back than hayne, then we could get hayne into a ball playing role, happy days, i wouldnt mind hes brother Glenn either....

Absolutely , a class player, however, IMO I would prefer Hayne in the Centers & leave Kelly or Paulo as 5/8. Would also love to sign brother Glenn if available.

stewart gets injured alot and showed in origin he isnt as good as slater BUT

for 400k - 450k i would have to say at least have a go at it, dont tear the club apart for him though. WE NEED A SECOND ROWER/HOOKER
