i know eeldorado has been as vocal as me about hoppa but what are the others opinion of him
i have to say imo hoppa has been an abject failure this year, even with giving him plenty of leeway for his mission recovery and his injury, he has offered absolutely nothing and probably rates up there with the signing of justin poore - except costing us twice as much.....
how long do you give him as a grace period for next yr til you want BAs head for selecting him or do you think he has played well? - me im a 5 rounder - i am very very disappointed with the club for selecting him week in week out and him playing like such a busted
How many digits would you give him for his performances this yr?? me - value 1 digit, and, performance a fist
his defence is average (reads and positional play) and he hasnt put his shoulder in ALL yr - not just post injury, in attack we get one or two runs a game - imo thats not worth 800k per yr

At least Sticky can (sort of) coach.
This bloke is a park footballer at best and I'm confident that the sheer weight of errors and blunders shown in video sessions throughout the year will convince the retention committee to not offer him another contract.
It must be hard for Hoppa to sit there and watch that - there's another defensive misread and missed tackle from Hoppa, there's another dropped ball, there's another forward streaking away from Hoppa to score a try.
Whilst there will be some giving him a little bit of latitude, that must be wearing very thin by now.
If we are paying for nice guys - he's worth a million a year
As a footballer - he's not worth a pie and coke.
Hoppa is one those players we have no choice but to persist with. Yeah he hasn't lived up to expectations this year, but he is young and we know he is talented so only a matter of time till he is back to his best.
If we don't persist with him, in true eels fashion the moment we let him go is going to be the moment he suddenly comes back to his best and bites us on our ass and everyone including the baggers at the moment jump on 1EE crying we shouldn't have let him go.
Agreed but if he dosnt improve soon his asking price will go down if and when we let him go. For his reputation and money earning capacity its in his own interest for him to show his best in 2015 otherwise he will go to another club on much much less money or the eels will re-sign him on a much lower contract. If thats not motivation enough to get back to his best then nothing is.

He is easily our classiest backline player after Hayne and has also the best footy brain in the team along with Hayne and Sandow. I would say he was physically not quite at his best this year and he is carrying a shoulder injury post origin for sure.
He needs a strike centre to compliment him though. I know centres play either side of the field these days but Hopoate is at his best from set pieces like scrums and in set plays. Parra needs another centre who is capable of capitlising on quick shifts out wide.
He has performed below average so a 4/10 for me. You can see glimpses of class in this bloke but a very poor season, picked in origin on name only.
Surely with a full off season and weights he can start earning his pay cheque.
I have been waiting all year for him to produce something but left disappointed every game.
If he was a horse that come back from a layoff and performed as he has, you would retire him....
Totally agree, though i don't know if they have won without him. I think he is much better then the alternative and you have to think he has had three different wingers outside him. Only Sio is really first grade quality of the three as well. Hoppa has done pretty damn good for his first year back, and injured.
To say he has done absolutely nothing is bieng harsh. Ive seen him do some real good things this year its just that he dosnt do it often enough. Lets see how he goes in 2015 after a full season under his belt.
