How long does it take YOU to get over a Loss

Dumb blog I know - but I just wanted to gauge whether I am a complete busted bum or just a normal Parramatta supporter. The question is this :

Q.  How long does it take you to get over a loss by this Team ?

Me personally, It usually takes 4 days MIn, write off that night and next day for sure, pissed off, analysing what we did, what we didnt, what can happen, who can come in, what miracles DA can do to get the team back on track.   That loss on saturday hurt as much as the two Shark losses, I know they will bite us big time at the end and I find the inconsistancy of this team is killing me.

Then again - ttook me about a month to get over 2001 GF loss and two weeks for the 2009 GF.  Figure I will be drunk for 2 months if we ever crack it for a win.

The loyal supporters of this great club needs to be rewarded.... and soon, that window of opportunity called 2010 is slowly closing and we may never get a chance as good as this for some time. The salary cap and player movements take care of that.

When we are GOOD we are VERY GOOD

  • after a while you get used to it
you can tell when they will be up for a game or whether they cant be bothered depending on who they play so you prepare yourself beforehand
agree , fans should be rewarded, but players dont seem to agree
  • Agreed when we are good we are the best.......then the Sharks beat us......twice.....

I have learnt to shake off a loss in a matter of a day, cause they have proven that a completely different team will show up the next week....

Like this week we will smash the donkeys!!
    • Remember that goon that used to be on here, 'Finally, Parra Premiers in 2010' that reckoned that a Parra loss to him was akin to losing a family member and was such a big fan that he'd literally murder (sic) opposing fans if they taunted him after a loss at the ground?? Well, after hearing that it only takes you an hour parra_90 he would, in the words of Brick Top from Snatch, "cut your fucking jacobs off"!

Sorry, this thread just reminded me of our dear departed friend ;-)
  • Until the next win...
  • Depends what day we play!

If we lose on a Friday night, it tends to ruin my whole weekend. If we win - I am high for the whole weekend! :-)

Of course, when it comes to Grand Finals, that takes years. I could only watch the 2001 GF a year later... and I still cried... :-(
    • I've yet to watch a reply of 2001 GF. And I never will...
  • I remember FPPI2010, hated the world and everyone in it from what i remember!

I wonder what alias he is using now??

    "Perrywinkle blue, for me ma!"
    • He wouldn't be on here anymore. He was way too volatile and I can't imagine he'd possibly be able to keep it together, particularly after the Sharks and Knights losses. People have an uncanny way of exposing themselves in an emotive environment such as a footy fan site!
      • hahha im really volatile after a loss too! If anyone even tries to send me a taunt they receive the most abusive reply that im really lucky that the friendship remains in tact. I cant help getting emotional but to me any parra taunt is a direct personal attack !
        • haha agree. but if left alone i am usually over after 5mins and start thinking about if it was a good game or not and what changes could be made. then i come on here and vent those thoughts.

"First game against them the wingers both made poor defensive issues to let in tries. Plus Samrani got burnt by McLean, hope thats been addressed. we were in that game till late, gave away dumb penalties.
I think Simonsson will come in late"
