How is our roster looking

25 players so far assuming BC rumours true and Hughes and Hollis are in the first grade squad (one at least will probably be development?)

Positions below are according to the nrl team websites; however I would expect Niukore and Papilii to play middle

FB: 1. Gutherson   2. Will Smith  3. Rankin

Wing: 1. Ferguson  2. Sivo  3. Dunster

Centre: 1. Waqa  2. Opacic

Halves: 1. Moses   2. Dylan

Hooker: 1. Mahoney  2. Joey Lussick

Lock: 1. Nathan Brown  2. Stone

Prop: 1. Junior  2. RCG.  3. Oregon  4. Alvaro 5. Hughes 6. Hollis

Second Row:  1. Matterson  2. Lane  3. Niukore 4. Papilii  5. Cartwright

Centre is our biggest issue considering Lane, Niukore and Papilii can play middle  or edge.

French to FB and Guth to centre would solve that - except I am not a fan of Guth anywhere but FB

  • The problem is 7 of those players aren't 1st grade quality.

Smith, Rankin, Opacic, Lussick, Stone, Alvaro and Cartwright are reserve grade quality at best.

I highly doubt any of them would be starters or even bench players at any other club.

We seriously need more power in the forwards and a couple of quality outside backs.

If we keep signing nuffies like we have for next year, I can see us being a very good chance of dropping out of the top 8.

  • haven't we also added Michael Oldfield?

    • God I hope not. Never rated the giuy

    • Who is Oldfield?

      • David. He was campaign manager for Pauline Hanson in the early years. Astute acquisition by BA, Oldfield will bring a bag of tricks with him

        • Sounds promising

        • Are you for real ,this Oldfield is not the same bloke that ran Paulines campaign, that bloke would be ready for retirement.

  • That's 23 with Cartwright in the team.

A marquee centre, if possible, should be a priority for the club.  A good prop (maybe 2) that can provide impact off the bench also seems like something that the club requires.  Bevan French back at Parra would also provide cover for the wing, fullback and halves positions. That's 27.

But have we got the approximate $2 mill left in the cap to fund this? $550k centre, $500k prop, $400k prop, $300k French plus $85k × 3.

Would also be great to see some fresh faces in the coaching department.

    • Thanks- I can't  count

Dont you think Niukore and Papilii will provide impact off the bench?

      • They will Wile E but we need at least one prop / big body to replace Kane Evans.
