How important is the halfback really?

Maybe we are missing Moses more than we think. Maybe him being back and a couple of games together and we turn things around.

Just watching the panthers without Cleary against a team much worse than the raiders and they look clueless and disjointed. Look I know as I type this it's only halftime and panthers will obviously win and probably run away with it, but maybe the halfback really is worth the money they get.

Maybe when Moses returns so too will our chances.

  • Panthers have really been struggling. Korosiau is missing as well

    • Yeah but when their hooker was missing earlier in the year they were still killing it with Cleary.

  • Melbourne were clunky without Munster. Halfbacks are everything.

  • Extremely important. But let's also remember the Raiders beat us with their 2nd string halfback and second string 5/8. (And 5th string FB)

    • Yeah true but look how bad they were going when their English halfback had other things on his mind. Sure some seconds halves can make a good go of it. Heck sometimes even third choice halves etc, but for other teams (eg panthers and maybe us) they need their halfback. I guess it depends how you structure your cap or a bit of luck.

    • I will be honest. Wighton form has been so poor that Frawley probabaly played at his level

    • Like 👍

    • Well they call it " the general " for a reason. I'm sure it's psychological as well , when an imp player isn't there players get flustered . And the lack of kicking game

      • Carlo, can't believe we haven't come up for a name for JA yet?

When the "spaniel" came into first grade weighing a few hundred grams heavier & getting rag dolled we were all over it!

"People will still complain because they will have more away games against better teams compared to other teams or different turn around times.
I think a shorter season and stand alone rep period is the best option and over due though."
