I am getting older and Covid has made me think about how I am losing the ability to create memories that define who I am and what I want in life. My life is absorbed with media and the desire for normality. What ever that is?
I planted trees that change with the season to help me keep in touch with the changing 4 seasons and watch the seasonal patterns on animal life as well as human life. Eg going to the beach, out door bush picnic season as well as my visiting snow fields. I went through an old photo album and it brought up lots of memories of things we did with nature in bringing up kids with experience s of nature.woth the season s. Changing activities and sports etc. Those things help define you..
I noticed a lot of people are now moving out of City living and heading for a rural lifestyle looking for a slower pace in life and maybe seeking to be closer to nature.
Ritual s today' are defined by shopping seasons rather than celebrating important milestones which define your journey through life

How would your life change with mental health if the internet crashed indefinitely and you were forced to live like pre social media and News and advertising being irrelevant in your life.Would you become more focused on your own physical and mental attributes?
Tad sorry but I can't put words together like you can . But what i will say if i can get it across is its a completely different world to what we grew up in for sure like you I'm an old fella now same as Sluggo 75 . What i am finding with what is transpiring especially with the COVID plus other things happening here and over seas my anxiety levels are starting to really getting me down and find trying to get it under control harder every day . I live on fhe outskirts of Sydney and go out every day to my sons place out kurrajong way where i have my two horses . That seems to help a bit as i am a country boy at heart and the wife says i seem to be more at ease when i go out there . In ending being out away from the hustle and bustle on the media internet and that life in general and out to nature might be the best for all . But at the moment life's not to good . Good luck to you a good commonsense blog Tad thank you
Hector It is a shame that things like a good bush walk is out of our life style these days.
I went for one yesterday Tad. Had a lyrebird sing to me. Female. One of the songs that it sang was the standard Samsung ringtone. I kid you not. You did a great job of mimicking it too.
Have you ever learned to whistle Randy?
I am, and have always been, an ineffective whistler. An Imposter. JustTerrible.
So.....No. But i do fabulous chicken riffs. I also do fantastic random digital sounding machine noises. Randette and I can get a suprising amount of communication done with weirdly non-random beeby noises......but not a whistle to be heard
I could watch it all day Randy.But I won,t
Randette gets me to venture outside of my own head, and to engage with folks in a way that i otherwise would not. Snippy dog makes me engage with the natural world.
Ilwould talk shit about the downside of internets, but I'm quite sure that it is monitoring me, and I defs don't want to get on it's bad side.......good internets, useful internets
All internets are all addictive Randy.
