How Good were the Broncos?

Have to applaud Kevin Walters for the great job he's done with the Broncos this year. They've got strike power in the whole side. The players are powerful, strong, fast, fit, athletic. They're going to be very hard to beat and definitely deserve the premiership this year. Wish the Eels had a pack like that and a determined coach like Walters.

  • Broncos are a great example of why you must spend huge money to retain your spine players and simply can't recruit yourself a few winners to add what it takes to make  a winning team ............

    • Storm have spent big on their spine too. The difference in the two sides is everywhere else, particularly the centres. Seve and Tonumaipea are extremely ordinary (I wouldn't want either at Parra) and the Broncs carved them up all night. The Storm props aren't anything special either.
The Broncos had literally the perfect game, everything went their way and the players grew in stature as the game progressed. If they're going to win a comp soon it has to be this year. They have heaps of momentum.

      • The difference is Melbourne have spent too much on their halves and can't recruit or spend where it counts. Just like us. Reynolds is a little competitor and a smart crafty halfback. He brought an attitude with him thats lifted those around him.

          • But , you can see how premierships are challenged for.   I'll bet my arse they won't have Ezra and Reynolds on Dylan Brown and Moses type money. And they recruited what they were lacking to fill that last peice of the puzzle.

Just as a side note as Poppa missed my sarcasm in the original comment. I was being sarcastic here Poppa , insinuating that Brisbane simply bought a halfback and a fullback. It was for the people who like to claim that you need to pay whatever it takes to retain your spine players as a wooden spoon is waiting for clubs that don't realise that spine players are like finding a unicorn with a 4 leaf clover for a cock.

        • The difference in the Broncos over the past a couple years is their fullback. A dynamic fullback changes everything in their attack, threat and confidence. One new player in a key position was all they needed... Reece Walsh.

    • Yeh ok....their fullback is on 550

      Halfback on 850

      5/8 on 300

      hooker will be in peanuts

  • They won the spoon in 2021 and now look at them ? this is what happens when you have the the right people at your club . The best thing to happen to the Broncos was Moses knocking them back a couple of years ago , they would not be the side they are today if Moses was their 7 , Reynolds has been a champion for them .

    • They do have a lot more spending power then parra tho. Lot of TPA money and lure of the broncos history in qld is massive for their grassroots.

    • What about when Reynolds goal line drop out got them the ball back? Cool dude😎

    • The brains of Reynolds needed a Reece Walsh to bring their attack alive
