how does this grab you

I think we need another fullback, Hoppa is 3rd rate at best in that position. He neds to move back to centres especially now that we have another centre injured and find another fullback. Maybe either Norman or Robinson to fullback?

  • Very softly, a little bit less than a mosquito bite
  • I am the man!

  • Im caught between thinking that Hoppa just needs mose time at FB and hes been going ok and thinking he isnt a fullback.

I dont think he is going too bad, he did have a poor night on friday but he has done plenty of good things at FB, and people need to remember its only his 4th game there for us.

His speed and positional play at FB is a worry, but id be giving him lots more time.

I dont think he has the build for a centre, if he goes back there i wouldnt be surprise if he spends his career injured.

    • A lot of guys are suggesting Sandow HB, Norman to FB and Hoppa to C (myself included) in order to keep all at the club.

My concern is, does Norman offer more than Hoppa at FB?

Personally, I'd like a more attacking FB who can break tackles and create space with pace.

Hoppa is a work in progress IMO.

  • I dont know if Norman does offer more at fullback, but lets see if given the chance. I know Robinson played some fullback with Canberra, so there is another option.

    • Hi Nick, been a long time.

Personally I would persist with Hoppa at fullback.

I realise he was shady under the high ball last week but they were very tough to take and we did still win. I am happy with how the halves have been performing so again, wouldn't change that.

With the extreme lack of first grade experience in the outside backs available at present, I would just leave the team as released. Only my opinion and it appears BA's as well.

  • If ba moves hoppa back to centres which i dont think he'll do for a while yet i reckon reece will get a go at it.
  • Couldn't agree more.People keep talking about Hoppa and yes he wasnt great last week but our 7 and 6 are both playing well. Why change that

  • If our replacements play ok, when our squad starts to come back I would think Reece could do a great job at the back. I'm sure he played fullback before, with extra room & his speed, he would go ok if his defence & positional play was ok.
    • I'm worried about his size if he does. If he takes a bomb, kick, grubber close to the line he can be easily muscled back in goal. If he counters by surrendering, he's no better than Hoppa IMO.
