How do you listen

On the back of the guitar blog it's aparent that parra supporters are also pretty dedicated to their music. What I'd like to know isHow do you listen to your favourite music?Phone.Radio.WebDedicated listening room. Also what medium do you prefer?VinylStored DigitalSpotify or similarMe, I love my music and sitting back listening relaxes me.I've probably spent too much on a listening room, signed guitars and pics hang on the wall. A lounge to lie on and it all sets the mood.I prefer old school vinyl but set up digital recently and have both storage and Spotify. At work I Bluetooth Spotify to a portable speaker. The other half just shakes her head but then she sees how happy it makes me. I got a keeper with her. Please share your setup.

    • I understand why Spotify is so popular. I got a family account.

What's the lounge room speaker? Looks interesting.

My current speakers are Anthony Gallo Acoustics Nucleus Reference
    • That's a sweet pair of kicks you're wearing there Ron  :)

  • Back in the 90's there was a shop at Birkenhead Point that would take your vinyl LP's and digitally remaster them on to CD's. They removed all scratch and background noise and the result was absolutely pure music and voice. You can no longer do this due to copyright law changes but I put most of the music I like (great tenors, Orbison, anyone who can really sing on key and belt out top end notes) onto CD and generally play it while driving. Headset only at home due to family complaints unless everyone is out and then I let it rip. My kids all play piano and the youngest plays bass and drums as well. Never a quiet moment at our place. Youngest son is doing music for HSC and asked last night at 9pm if it was too late to practice. I never so no to music so at 9pm he let's rip with some Rachmaninoff. There is something brilliant about Italian composers/music and Puccini knows how to tug at the heart strings. I don't mind this hybrid at the moment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aIEL5P_ykE  I was never exposed to the great guitarists so I am trying to Youtube everyone mentioned in the blog to broaden my horizons

    • PT I'm at a stage in life where I can afford a turntable and cart that when I was younger I could only dream about and it's giving me great pleasure to play my vinyl all over again, many without any hiss or pop.

I've tube amps and vinyl, the altimate analogue sound and it brings a smile on every time I put it on.

Unfortunately my son plays his keyboard with headphones so I never get to hear him. He completed his grade 8 earlier this year. 1 day I'll plug it into a small amp without him knowing ;)
  • Mainly via my phone in the car. Usually I prefer Pandora to Spotify.

    At home it's either:
Spotify on PS4 -> TV -> old 25 Disc stereo
    Or
Purchased music or app on Phone -> guitar amp
  • Its a Sony MHC V3. Its really loud shakes the windows with bass.

    • So apart from the power I'm assuming you'd lose some of the stereo effects compare to headphones or left right speakers?
      • I'm not sure mate, I just like my music loud.

        • Yep and if you're not right in front left/right probably doesn't really matter anyway.

With the right music, feeling your chest being hit by bass is a great feeling :)
