How do we think we end the year?

8 games left, 6 at home, 5 teams in the 8, 1 near the 8, other two in bottom 4.

How do we think we are seeing out the year? How should we see out the year? For me, honest expectations is winning 5 of the last 8, predicting us to win 4. I see us around the 5-6 mark on the ladder which i think is fine, give us a home semi at Commbank. Though if we think the WLWLWL wave will continue, well if we lost Warriors tomorrow, could well be 3 losses in a row as Brisbane and Penrith are back to back. Then Manly, Souths and Canterbury which i think we can all 3, more likely 2 out of 3. Then complete with Brisbane in Brisbane and Melbourne who may be resting players.

Warriors - W

Brisbane - W

Penrith - L

Manly - W

Souths - L

Canterbury - W

Brisbane - L

Melbourne - W/L

Last one i am a bit hit or miss on depending on if Melbourne and us rest players. If we are sitting 5th or 6th and are getting a home semi BA more likely will rest players so could lead to an L.

I know anything less than top 4 is a fail, at this stage anything less than a premiership is a fail. I will wait til years end, but you can still make a prelim from 5th or 6th, that is my pass mark.

What does everyone think our finish will be?

Bare in mind i went the middle route, but i could very well see us win 6 of 8, but also lose 6 of 8. I guess it is a bit different to the last few years as we have no idea how they are going to finish the year off.

  • We are too unpredictable to win predict match let alone make any predictions on 8 games. Our wide defense is still dog shit under Arthur. It doesn't matter who you put there, Arthur's style doesn't cut the mustard.

    • Which is why i went in the middle for sake of it Chief. We could beat Penrith and Brisbane then lose to Canterbury at home.

We are the Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde of the NRL.

  • I am confident over the warriors and bulldogs, that's it. And we could certainly lose those two games as well. It will be flip of the coin if we make the 8 or not.

  • We will beat warriors,  dogs and broncos both times, that's 4 wins, a loss to souths is all but a sure thing, manly 50-50, panthers 50-50 and the storm could come down to who if anyone is being rested from either team.

    I'll  predict 5 wins.

    • Middle of road so far meaning might finish around 6th, not good enough of course with the team we have and the expectation, semi's will have added pressure than if they finished 4th.

  • We finish the year with a bang. Finish 4th after beating Melbourne and penrith

  • Also, I think we can beat Brisbane and Souths. Souths we weren't prepared for the weather at all and we had Matto out who is a key part of our team

  • Also if we name this side we can beat anyone!

  • If they beat the tigers and dogs we would be sitting 2nd. Finishing 4th playing panthers first week is gonna cost us

    • Only issue though Coryn is we get up against good opposition for 6 weeks or so before semi's, do we get to semi's battered and bruised? Then get knocked out straight sets again? If we had average opposition we could pick up a win being average like against Wests but Brisbane twice, Penrith, Melbourne and maybe Souths and Manly (At brooky) you cannot get away with being average.

"There is supposed to be a level of balance here, but we seem to get most of the top 8 trams twice every year. The aim is to win as many games as we can, but the draws make this hard to achieve. "

"Agreed. We have basically just forfeited both Melbourne games. Parra v Melbourne used to be a big game, but fans need to believe we can beat them at their best to spend their hard earned cash. If we are in a position to realistically win every home…"
