How do Roosters have money?

Can people please enlighten me as to why they think the Roosters have money???
Yes they lost Maloney on big money and RTS who was on peanuts compared to what hes on at the Warriors, but they used their money on re-signing Ferguson, Tupou, Kenny-Dowell, Waerea-Hargreaves and Napa all who would be asking for big money and yet believe they can sign Hayne who will demand more than 900K a season???
not including Jennings, Cordner, Guerra, Moa and Pearce who would be on good money aswell being Origin/Internationals
im going on record to say if Hayne comes back id prefer him to go to team who has money as it is fairer, we do not have money, neither Roosters
But if South Sydney can get an marquee allowance for Burgess we should for Hayne

  • They would have a little left in their cap but what would enable them to get Hayne is the third party deals their admin could organize. Politis is a smart operator. Notice how you never hear of Roosters third party deals falling through? That's because they do things right. Where as we have had 3rd party issues with Hayne, Sandow and Hopoate.
    • I thought the club couldn't organise 3rd party agreements, it had to be between the player, the agent and the sponsor?
If that's the case Parramatta can do the same, as can other clubs

    • The club can't guarantee payments. But they sure as hell steer the player to the third party. Also as for upgrades to existing players go, the increases to the cap often account for most of that - which works for all teams.

  • Perhaps Hayne should choose where he wants to play and the NRL help make it happen.
    • X2
    • with that do you think Hayne will choose us?, I think so

  • I call BS on Souths! How come Burgress return won't affect their cap and yet if JH came back to Parra, it will be included in the cap?

  • If we only have 200K left to spend with the players we've got, then Roosters must be close to going over right?
seriously no media has raised this question, yet if we get him we'll never hear the end of it

    • The media will say Hayne is a straight swap for rts, in salary cap terms. Complete joke considering the Folau saga a few years ago but that was in the past and they have learnt from their mistakes tough luck for eels but good luck to roosters no doubt where in reality the NRL should be doing everything in its power to get Hayne back to the eels if there is any chance of him coming coming back to au.
