Gordon, Semi, Tautai, Jennings, French, Gutherson and Norman.
Jennings to partner French, can play on the right if he has to leaving Tautai to partner Semi, wouldn't be surprised to see Semi in the centres during the game.
I watched the game on Fox. The warriors are a top 2 team in the 2nd tier and had won their last 5 games. Many of the Warriors players had first grade experience, particularly the Warriors forward pack. The following is what I took out of the lost game of our players.
- Both halves struggled big time in defence defending on the edge when the warriors where attacking our line. Neither half are first grade ready and I don't think they would be first grade ready until 2018, if at all.
- King showed some glimpses of sharpness out of dummy half and could play NRL this year.
- Alex tried very hard in the middle against a very strong Warriors pack, but lacked the strength, power and punch to make the jump "this year" to the NRL. On TV Alex looks like a slightly smaller version then Alvaro. A big off season in the gym is needed for Alex and I would like him to put 5-7kg on before making the jump.
- Folau is very powerful and hard to tackle in this grade. Even though I think Folau would be too slow to succeed as a centre in the NRL he may be successful as a winger or edge second rower. For Folau to return to the NRL he needs to be significantly fitter, particularly if he was an edge backrower. With improved fitness he could be a good NRL bench player as he could play in the backs or forwards and cover many positions. The only thing holding him back is his core fitness and endurance. If Folau had Semi's fitness he would be an NRL player. The next off season will make or break Folau.
- I thought Malone had very good balance in attack and looked hard to tackle. If he could put on 5kg over the next 9 months he may make the jump to the NRL.
- O'Brien looked the best player for us during this game.
- None of the other players in our team showed they were NRL ready.
I think Matthew is well behind guys like Kelepi.
