How did Hindy and Hayne go?

I didn't watch the game early this morning and so far I can't find a report that mentions Hindmarsh or Hayne. Does anybody know how they played?

  • Sheens took off Hindy and Smith at the same time and the poms murdered us down the middle. Hindy was everywhere in D.

Hayne had limited opportunity but at least went searching for the ball. Has not received the ball once without 3 diefenders in front of him.... not ncessarily Hodges fault they are just repeatedly playing to Inglis.... Hodges too is not getting any quality ball.

The one good movement to the right where Hayne scored untouched was called back for an obstruction and Slater threw the ball 2m forward anyway (the guy has a terrible left to right pass).
  • Yeah Hindy was great as usual. One strip he made near the line was crucial. Jarryd is still dragging round his 'so great and wonderful he's the apex of genius' tag. And yeah, the defence fell apart when Hindy wasn't there. To their credit the Poms were 100% better in the second half.
  • yeah, hindy was great and if they werent in such a strong position i doubt he would have come off.

with hayne it's hard..........he did have some touch's but didnt do anything, u can tell there's no talk between him and hodges and that hodges is isnt acknowledging he has one of the best in the world outside him.He did have some touch and did little with them, he did cross the line but the pass from billy slater was ruled forward
  • Just like Parra, Australia needs Hindmarsh. I got up and watched the game last night, While Hindy was on the poms got nothin. The twenty or so minitues he was of, they flogged us up through the middle!
Hayne? Well it seems the rest of the team only give him the ball when there is a sea of defenders in front of him, which was only 6-7 times anyway, Australias attacking game was played almost entirely up the left wing. Hodges and Hayne may as well taken a deck of cards out with them to pass the time, not quite as bad as the first game for them though. Hayne 'scored' off the only ball he got with any space, which slater threw a mile forward fo some silly slater under pressure reason. Billy Slater really cant handle a side that is attacking well!
Hayne and Hindamarsh both done try saving tackles in the last 15 m, tries which could have blown the game right open. I think did everything he could on the wing with no ball. Hindmarsh.. was in every second tacke as always.
    Well Done Lads
  • Hindy was a legend as usual! GO HINDY!!

Hayne did not see much ball, it's not easy being out of position, but he didn't do anything wrong either.

Agree, Inglis is a miracle player.
  • hayne really needs to be put at fullback so much talent ready to explode come on sheens
    • Hayne has absolutely no combination going with either of the halves or his centre partner Hodges.

I agree with Tony Bongo, I am as 1 eyed an eels fan as the rest of us and a huge Hayne fan but if Inglis isn't the best attacking player in the game then I have been watching a different couple of nrl seasons. Sure Hayne has done a couple of things that are arguably more freakish (although Inglis has done his share of freakish things) but Inglis is just consistently great.
      • Hate to say it but it is true. The media was too quick to label haynesy the BEST player in the world and it does seem to have affected his form lately(including the G.F) He just needs to pull his head in and improve which i believe he will as he is still only a boy.
        • This is BS and you should know it. If Hayne had half the ball Inglis has been getting, he would be showing why he is no:1. I agree with the grand final, they bottled him up well, but things just dont go your way some days, no matter who you are!
  • Dude.. most of the tries were scored on the opposite side of the field to Hayne.... thats why there were no pats on the back. Remember, TV can paint a very different picture to what actually occurs in reality.
