After the whole Cronulla drama that has happened this week, how can anyone outside of probably Brisbane, Eastern Suburbs and Melbourne be confident in winning a premiership and not having to worry about it being stripped for salary cap or third party agreement breaches later on?.
It seems that the NRL are really slow when it comes to acting or discovering indescretions from the past. Or they seem to hand down punishments at convenient times. I still want to know why it took the NRL 3 years to really punish us. Greenberg said at the time that they knew we had salary cap issues going back to 2013, why did they wait until we were third on the ladder in 2016 to hand down that punishment?, if anything punishments should of been done before the start of 2016.
It will probably happen again in the future, some club will win the premiership and in 2022, the NRL will say "We are investigating a third party payment made by this club in the 2019 season".
