Hopoate ditches Sunday football !

Rothfield is reporting in tomorrow's telegraph that Will Hopoate has gained permission from the Bulldogs due to his religious beliefs not to play or train on Sunday. There's also reports Hasler is begging him to play on Grand Final day should the Bulldogs advance that far.I find it very hard to see a professional club accepting these conditions, especially for such a high profile player.

  • Outrageous how can a club do this. Scandalous I've heard the same report from a source inside the club.
  • Suck sh*t to the Bulldogs for even giving this over rated, god-bothering,moron a contract.Mainstream religions are ridiculous enough, but Moronism is the Professional Wrestling of religions, the only religion that can make Scientology  look credible.Maybe Top Dawg should keep Floppa company on Sundays, that should help Floppa  reconsider.

    • What a friggin wack ....
  • And there it is my friends- the end of his Supreme Court case.

If he took a lower contract with dogs because of this he hasn't mitigated his losses

And if as I understand these demands were made after the contract with parra was agreed then it gives Parramatta reasons to void the contract as he was not intending to fulfill his contractural obligations in relation to training, playing and community appearances
    • 100%
    • This was my understanding why Parra decided to not register his contract. However, why we offered such a large contract to a player with limited ability is beyond my comprehension!

I bet his barrister in upcoming trial is furious this has happened. Trial outcome was probably 50% and she was pressuring club to come to some agreement but now I would suspect club is very confident in winning. Funny how she has been very silent lately while being very public with media just before mediation.

  • This was apparently part of the conditions sought by his manager with us. Consider this. No Sunday footy means he wouldn't do a Captains run on Saturday with the team. No point in it. No Sunday footy means no Sunday captains run for a Monday game, so why select him? As a footballer, he wants weekends off!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • This is hilarious.......
  • It seems that the newspapers have a new club to target. However they didn't have any ammunition, so they find an ex-eels player and run the same story with a new club name attached. Nothing to see here.
