Hopgood - 61 tackles 1 miss. 80 min in middle.

Just looking back at some of the stats from the last game, unbelievable effort from Hopgood. Lot of people have been bashing him on socials all season (not much of that here) for his errors but he has really finished the season with a bang. Propgood is here to stay 🫡

  • He certainly is Eli, the sight of him and Jack dropping them and getting up to do it all game was magnificent. But we need to manage his workload and get him more support in his role. We can't expect Hoppy to perform like that every game else we'll just wear our champion out, and we can't be that dumb.

    • No way he should be playing 80 in the middle like that, tells me Ryles doesn't trust the other middles we have. Moretti Tuaviti and JDB will help that for sure

    • Come on down Jack De Belin

  • Yes he was "bashed " for go reason he was making simple errors and was very ordinary, a change of position has obviously helped and playing better NOW.

    • Looking back at it, I think not having Moses meant they tried to ball play more through the middle. The more you make guys like Hopgood pass under fatigue probably going to cough it up. Adding Walker and Moses as links totally changes things

      • Fair point

  • Yes awesome effort. Hope he still uses his ball offloading skill.

  • Way better at prop than a 13 no ball playing just tackle and run he is a modern day prop size can play big minutes going well

    • I think shaking of his injury worries has been the main catalyst. He seems to be moving with much more freedom now.

      • Yeah, Pops I too wonder about his injury situation. How's his back doing, and any pain management needed? But 80 minutes at prop probably answers part of it.

"No they don't Mick. EA had the right of it. Jim was selected on the NSW Cup bench with the intent to play minimal (in this case zero) minutes, because they had to pick 17 players and they didn't want to weaken the Flegg team."
