'HOMESICK' BEN HANNANT MAY QUIT BULLDOGS

CANTERBURY prop Ben Hannant isconsidering asking for an early release from his Bulldogs contract.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Ben Hannant and his wife Emma - who both come from the Gold Coast - are homesick.

It is understood the Gold Coast Titans have expressed preliminary interest in Hannant, should the Dogs agree to a release.

Hannant, off contract after 2011, will play for Canterbury in tomorrow night's match against St George Illawarra at WIN Stadium, Wollongong.

This may make is a little harder for us to keep Mateo. The Bulldogs will have a stack of space under the cap if he goes

  • sucked in to the dogs, thats what you get when you go out and buy all your players and buy a premiership, shoold look at their juniors more???

    And leave Mateo alone.
  • I don't know if hannant leaving the dogs will have any impact on keeping Mateo. They will lose their only decent prop and will have to go hard to get another prop of similar quality. Mateo ain't a prop so it shouldn't have any bearing.
  • He should sign with the Roosters, that's where all Bulldogs players go! haha

Bulldogs being the "family club" was a myth.
  • No Donna, I think you're correct. I remember hearing in an interview with Greenburg that if it goes ahead, it will likely be a trade.
  • isnt that what lyon said
only to move half way around the world
  • Also Melbourne.

Melbourne have done well to get the Smith's, Inglis, Slaters & the rest of their 22 man squad, all the way down to that shitty little hole in Melbourne as they have no locals, but when the NRL funds dry up & Melbourne need to stand on their own two feet, they will struggle to get quality players.

We will not see it for another 5 years, but it will happen.

When it does - Sucked in. No hard feelings from 09, but I hate Melbourne.
    • Geez I am sick of these sooks trying to get out of contracts because of homesickness or things like that.

They are lucky to be able to get paid to play a sport, a friend of mine had to go halfway around the world to the middle east, away from his family, to make money as a diver. Even I had to move interstate for work.

      That's life mate.
  • Well according to the papers today they want Melbourne's props - Lima and some other bloke and also want Morris from the Dragons. No talk of Mateo being high on their agenda.
  • I wasn't aware that you had been appointed the dictator of the subject matter being discussed on 1Eyed Eel, Billblogs.

Naturally, this being the 1Eyed Eel site the majority of blogs should involve the Parramatta Eels but why is it an issue if other topics are discussed?

If it doesn't interest you, don't read it.
