Home game. Pffft

The biggest joke today was not Parramatta's performance. Or the lop-sided penalty count. It was the fact that match could in any way be deemed a Parramatta home game. Sandow's name gets called out to a huge chorus of boos and from the opening whistle, that massive group of Bunnies fans just wailed and wailed and I honestly felt sick that we literally just hand them a home ground advantage. It was 17k crowd - I'd be surprised if we had any more than 7000 of that split.

It was junior development day too, and I took my U6 boys around the ground as part of the march past - and seriously it felt like a ghost town until we reached the Souths bays. I can't imagine how different that would have felt had they done it just prior to the game at Parra.

We have to get our home games back to our Stadium. We have to rediscover the soul of our club and it lies at Parramatta/Cumberland Oval. You sell your soul, and you end up at... well, pretty much where we are now.

  • Well said I couldn't agree more
  • it annoyed me even more watching on TV when at one stage they had the camera on the Bunnies supporters singing for at least 20 seconds.

  • Totally agree, and its a disgrace we have sold out in the last few years, and its not looking good for the future in the same regards, Beaker Edwards wants more games at ANZ, he is a blow in with no sense of tradition or whats needed for the fans, this will be a big test for the new board, moving any home games away from parra is a huge disaster, including moving games to the country, stuff the country fans, come to parra or dont watch a live game at all.

    • Word for word 100% agree with you Snake, the ANZ games the Mudgee game, F---ing irritating. We never have a Sunday arvo game at Para. It's at the point that I'm 50 - 50 not renewing my family membership in 2014.
  • Fully agree. We should always play our home games at Parra regardless of the capacity restrictions.

  • Couldn't agree more! Every home game must b @ parra stadium! Bring back the massive blue & gold pom poms behind the goal post, hose down the visiting teams dressing room b4 they arrive, fireworks & music wen we score & dead silence wen an away team scores. Serve warm beer 2 visiting fans. Make parra stadium a ground no away team or away fan wants to visit!
    • Im standing up applauding you BlacJac....awesome..!!! we need to make Parramatta Stadium a fortress once again & only comfortable for the home fans-stuff the away fans, who cares about them...Im not saying being violent to them but they should feel very irritated by an army of blue & gold....& it pains me to say this Im almost 100% sure that for the first time in 14 years I WONT be renewing my membership for myself or my wife & kids, Im not contributing to any mastermind plan that Edwards & the other gronks have planned financially$ coz they're not looking after the fans....so bugger them(its such a shame its gotten to this point)

  • Yep this taking our home games away is getting out of hand. The board has to act and act now. I and many others consider this as one of the top issues our board has to sort out so if this contunies next year someone at the top has to go. Listen to your fans you idiots. In the end this will end up costing you more money than you make out of these deals.

  • Because we actually have been playing quite well at Parra Stadium. Isnt that where our 3 wins have come from? we have a good parra stadium record, we just dont play enough games there. Is the draw lop-sided? do we even get as many home games as other teams?

    • Well the reason why they take games to anz and are looking to take more, is quite simply $$$$$$$. Parra will never leave anz stadium, as they would make more money for a empty stadium at anz than a packed house at parra.
