Hodkinson signs with Newcastle

Big news on player movement... I was wondering if he would join Titans or Knights.

The Newcastle Knights is pleased to announce halfback Trent Hodkinson has agreed to the terms of a three-year contract, commencing in season 2016.

Hodkinson made his NRL debut in 2010 playing for the Manly Sea Eagles before joining the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2011. The 26-year-old NSW Origin halfback has played 109 NRL games.

“Trent’s signing is a major coup for our Club,” CEO Matt Gidley said on Monday.

“Trent is the current NSW halfback and has proven on many occasions, in grand finals and Origin matches, his ability to steer his team to victory.

“Our Club has a young and talented back line in place and we look forward to Trent assisting our team to realise their potential.”

  • RIP Trent Hodgkinson..

But not before Origin III decider!!!
    • Haha... I find it appropriate that a boring player like Hodkinson goes to a boring team like the knights.

  • Hodkinson reminds me of the tortoise in the race.

  • Cornish to Gold Coast. Taylor to Manly and that's the halves dance done for 2015.
  • Hodko and Mullen will be a nice combination. Trent will steer them round and that will free Mullen up for the creative role.
    • I agree, they will compliment each other very nicely. Good on hodko, he may be a nuffy at times but the dogs are silly for letting him go over j Reynolds.

    • They had Bennet and Smith in the past, and they were bagged and not respected, as they are not Newcastle people. Newcastle problem is they have too much faith in their own. This has hurt them since johns retired. Blokes are not putting in and the club is hurting as a result of feeling the need to keep them Around due to being good Newcastle people.
  • Good luck to them. Decent signing.
