Hindy feels the pain too

I don’t know about you,  but I kind of struggle to keep my emotions in check when I’m watching the footy, particularly on the tele. It’s gotten to the point where my wife clears out and takes my youngest boy with her for game time, to avoid the swearing, throwing, kicking, etc.

So I couldn’t help but have a chuckle during the Foxtel promo that the company is doing for the upcoming NRL season. Hindy is watching the game, the Eels concede a try and he throws down the remote in disgust and it smashes on the coffee table. That’s kind of my pet outlet for my frustrations too.

Key tip for rookies, have something nice and soft to aim at.

Mind you, I'm sure this year is going to be all about doing Victory dances and high-fives. Surely?

What's the worst thing you've broken or damaged, venting your Eels-related frustration!

  • I notice it's the game we lost by 50 to the Roosters. I think I broke more than the remote that night.

    • Nice spot. I actually think I'd gone into a state of numbness by that stage,.

  • The heart 1Eyed. 1st half of the 2001 grand final v Newcastle. That was the third time was heart was broken watching the Eels. The other two times were the 1984 grand final and one club game in the 80's when we lead the Roosters by plenty until an inspired fightback lead by Rambo Ronnie Gibbs got the Roosters over the line.

It mends, but never fully heals.

  • Yep defo was 29-0. very shit day

  • 1 plasma, 2 pet cats, plastered around 25 holes in the wall from stubbie bottles, numerous amounts of visits from the cops after my neighbours had called them thinking i was murdering someone,2 broken toes,1 divorce, numerous vases & couple remotes!
    • I think  you win.

    • How did you break a cat?
    • I think I'm impressed?

    • Got me covered, just.

1 divorce, 1 budgie , 18 bottles of dirty granny Apple cider.
2 all in brawls @ parra leagues.
1 broken hand, 1 compound fractured big toe, 3 destroyed tables, 8 chairs .

Oh and wearing a pink tutu to the footy paying off numerous bad bets.

      Lol
  • Love the promo. Missus has had to clear the loungeroom plenty of times.

A couple of times she's unfortunately said 'It's only a game', which usually doesn't go down too well.

Let's hope there are more cheers than groans this year for the eels.

"True Poppa, having someone that can fill both spots in a pinch. I reckon last time we had that was probably Finch in 2010's. Norman could take control but effected his game too much. "

"I wonder if Ryles prefers a rookie or someone who has FG experience. Galvin and Smith fit that bill. But Sanders, being left footed too, could be an option. Though i do find it very odd, surprising to myself too, that Sanders has not been close to…"

"Ok so you are overall saying how the club handled Brown with not overreacting? I thought your post was that we handled him deciding to leave well. That is where i was going with it. "
