Hindmarsh says "Paint the SFS Blue and Gold!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hindy Says Paint the SFS Blue & GoldPirtek Parramatta Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh has challenged all Eels fans to paint the Sydney Football Stadium Blue & Gold for Friday night’s blockbuster NRL clash against the Wests Tigers. The call comes at the same time as Eels fans are planning their own behind the scenes moves to give the SFS a decidedly Parramatta hue. With a crowd of around 30,000 expected, Hindmarsh has called on all Eels fans to show their true colours and turn out in big numbers.“It’s not often you get a chance like this one,” Hindmarsh said.“This is a massive game, and through our fans we have a massive opportunity to take full advantage and make it like a home game.“In terms of crowd numbers, we keep hearing reports that the split between Parramatta fans and Wests Tigers supporters could well be as high as 50-50.“If every Parra fan in the crowd is decked out in Blue & Gold, then the SFS sure will feel more like a home ground than an away one.”Eels fans are planning to congregate in their own unofficial supporter bays at the SFS, with a number of those behind the push also planning to wear the Blue & Gold hooped jerseys of the late 1990’s – the first jersey worn by the Eels against the Wests Tigers after the Balmain-Western Suburbs merger. To join them, simply purchase your seats in Bay 35 for A reserve tickets, Bays 36 - 37 for B reserve and Bays 38 - 41 for general admission."Lots of people are starting to get nervous that they won't be able to walk up and get tickets, so they are pre-purchasing," long time Eels season ticket holder Mark Hepworth said."I believe there are a few banners that will come out for this one as well, and people are not only being encouraged to wear their 90's jerseys, but more importantly to bring and wave their flags."Hopefully we can put on a good show for the team."Eels chief executive officer Paul Osborne said the move is a sign of the devotion of Parramatta supporters.“Our season ticket holders and supporters have always been known for their passion and loyalty and I commend them for taking this step,” Osborne said.“While this is an entirely unofficial move, done without the assistance of the football club, I'd like to think that other fans of the club would jump on board and join them between Bay 35 and Bay 41 on Friday night.“It would be fantastic to see a large chunk of the eastern side of the SFS decked out in Blue & Gold. The boys would get a huge lift out of it and I certainly think it’s achievable.”Tickets are available now through Ticketek at www.ticketek.com or at all good Ticketek outlets, including Parramatta Leagues Club.A NOTE FROM THE SYDNEY CRICKET & SPORTS GROUND TRUSTDue to the large number of spectators heading to the Sydney Football Stadium for Friday night’s match, the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust have asked that all fans:· Plan Ahead: Pre-purchase match tickets to avoid any ticket queues and allow immediate ground entry· Travel Early: Many fans will be travelling across the Sydney metro area to the SFS for the game, so they will have to factor in Friday night peak hour traffic across the wider Sydney road network. So please advise fans to plan their trip and allow plenty of time to arrive at the ground· Catch Public Transport: Sydney buses will run express shuttle services to MoorePark, from Central Station, Chalmers Street - Route 1. Return services operate for approximately one hour after the event from MoorePark to Central Station.

  • Apparently EELS fans have bought more tickets than west tiger fans, around 2:1 ratio....benji was begging all fans to get out there cause he would hate to see blue and gold everywhere lol
  • Come on!! Starting to get excited already! Me, along with 3 other passionate Eels fans will be in bay 36 cheering the boys on!
  • If you have old jerseys guys get them out as well.

I don't know why Eels officials couldn't do something like it and it took the fans to get in the paper and say it.
  • We haven't lost a game since I bought my last jersey (5 weeks ago) so quite obviously it is this jersey that has caused our good form. Therefore I made the decision not to wash it. God it stinks!!! Sorry to all concerned if you happen to be sitting next to me on friday night, but i'm sure you would all agree it is worth the sacrifice.

"I do not think they pick Tago. i reckon it is Samrani on that wing, purely based on Ryles picking him there before and playing decent there. Or if he is fit Dunster gets a crack."

"Not next week EA, a few weeks down the track, cant do it this week with Lomax out. But i feel Samrani will do ok, not great but do a job.
Turbo will be picked for NSW, too much noise around it. Him, Jake, DCE and Olakau'atu. "
