HINDMARSH OUT!!

Shit.PARRAMATTA has suffered a huge blow on the eve of tomorrow night's blockbuster against St George Illawarra at WIN Jubilee Oval with inspirational backrower Nathan Hindmarsh ruled out with a toe injury.Hindmarsh, a mainstay of the Eels defence who averages close to 40 tackles a game, had surgery in the off season on his big toe and injured it during last Friday night's win over Penrith at Parramatta Stadium.“He got it banged up last week and it's been giving him a ludricous amount of grief,” Eels coach Daniel Anderson said today.“He hasn't been able to train this week and he can't run, he can't even walk well today.”Anderson said that he expected to have Hindmarsh available for the Eels qualifying final next week _ depending on results in the final round they could finish anywhere from fith to eighth.“He could have played tomorrow night but it would have been under duress and I made the call we don't need to push him at this stage,” Anderson said.“He knows himself he's going to be better off for the team when he's not playing and then playing next week.“He wouldn't be able to deliver what he wanted tomorrow night anyway.”Broderick Wright comes into the squad named on Tuesday. It's expected he will fill a bench role with a raft of options open to Anderson, the most likely being bringing veteran backrower Joe Galuvao straight into the starting team.http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,26021467-2722,00.html

  • ohhhhhhhh NO WAY
  • Oh crap.

Such a blow .. but this will be a good test for us. I still think we can do it.
    • What the F#%K !!!!!!
  • This isn't too bad a thing. All the pressure is now on Saints (it was anyway but moreso now) and if they lose against us without Hindy they are in all sorts........ Next week is what it is all about but still don't write us off for tomorrow night...
    • Yeah, I reckon we can still win it. Not only win it, but win it well.
  • Well, that's going to make it challenging to say the least.
  • Of course its a blow to lose Hindmarsh, but I think the days are gone when we he's pivotal to the side. Our defence is much better these days and we have players like Todd Lowrie and Ben Smith who can increase their defensive loads.
    • Don't under estimate Hindy's role in the team... His team mates defend better when they know he is around and he saves that many tries by his positioning (such an underrated asset) Saving tries just as important as scoring them... The rest of the pack has to pick the slack and step up to the mark!
  • GREAT MOVE BY DA! If your gonna rest players, this is the week to do it, also if he happen to play dragons two weeks in a row it also becomes a clever strategy, If they gotta play parra without hindy and then parra with hindy, it would be a stronger defensive side they would need to play the second time around which might frustrate the dragons.

A fresh Hindmarsh week one of semi's sounds great to me!
  • Hindy doesnt need his big toe - infact he can play the whole game on 1 leg with one arm tied behind his back and fully blind folded and still make 203 tackles and 1400 metres...DA is just toying with the Dragons and Bennett

Hes always trying to run over people which okay is his strength but he's not added anything to move him to that next level.
I honestly don't…"
