RETIRED Warrington Wolves winger Chris Hicks will join Parramatta next season having struck a deal with the Eels on Monday.
The former Sea Eagle has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Eels and will finalise the contract upon arrival in Australia as he is still overseas in England.
"I can't wait to return back to Australia and play under Stephen Kearney," Hicks exclusively told Sportsnewsfirst.com.au.
"Having the chance to play alongside superstars like Jarryd Hayne and Nathan Hindmarsh has got me excited and I'm ready for a successful year with the Eels."

great
this will be interesting!
Stiffler I think that is a bit over the top. Nathan Hindmarsh is still considered a star, any club would pay top-dollar for him even at his current age. Being a defensive player doesn't mean you are not a star, for example Jeremy Smith is a star but he is a defensive oriented player too.
Yes, agreed Michael. We need to support all the players who'll put their bodies on the line for the mighty Eels. Good luck to Chris - whilst he was never a superstar (and never will be so don't expect miracles bretheren) he never let anyone down either. Hopefully we'll get a good solid year out of him. His goalkicking ability poses a potential threat to Luke Burt though - we have plenty of wingers....hopefully Burt recaptures his 09 form.
Stiff really how can you say that about hindy, he is always leading by example by rock solid defense and always his fair share of hitups. When you compare him to hayne not saying that hayne is not a superstar but f@#k he is lazy if he put in as much effort as hindy how good could he be.
You replied in the wrong spot nev. Poor nev.
When are you going to face the fact that inu is gone citrus/dapowerisinu?
x 2 stiffler i fully agree.
lol at stiggler damn iphone.
A great signing our best this year.
An excellent signing. No superstar but a solid experienced player that will bring stability to the centres.
Still has a good turn of pace on him and is at least equal in talent to Joel Reddy.
He will play the year and that will allow Loko to have another year in the lower grades.
Compared to Inu, Hicks, even at his age is by far the better player- at least Hicks will give us 100%.
Hindy has the smarts of a halfback, always putting himself in the right position at the right itme and ensuring the team adjusts accordingly.
He also has increased his ability to offload more and adapt to the modern game and the speed it goes at. He could have curled up and got out a treu champion however he adjusted and continues to prove how much of a warrior and modern day super star he is.
Queensland would pick him as the 1st back rower if he was from Gympie so NSW should take the same approach.
