  • Heavy recent losses (Rabbitohs, Manly, Cowboys) accelerated the decision (News.com.au)

  • Darn, I was hoping they'd keep him around for a bit longer to make sure the Dragons are absolutely locked in for the spoon.

They're going to be paying a few players to play elsewhere over the next few years if they want to transform their squad. Not a fun situation for the next coach up.

  • Not surprising the current situation had to end somehow.

I have all the respect in the world for Gutho but he made a mistake leaving Parra. The club was senisble not trying to match the Dragons.
At the time I felt certain that the Cook, Gutho and Holmes signings were a big strategic mistake. It was hard to see how they would change the team in regards to developing a winning brand or style of football. For mine it was an early indicator that the game may have passed flanno by.

I guess for us, there may be an opportunity for Sua to leave and play out the back half of the Season with the Eels.

    • Well said Carlos. I'm so over folks on this forum pissing on Gutho. He was a warrior for us and his moving on was timely.

That's not a criticism of him or us as a club.

  • At least they have a good crop of youngsters coming through if they land Drinkwater add him to Atkinson and Liddle there's 3 parts of the spine and Kolomatangi to be the leader of there foward pack. They could surprise a few teams with the young guys as there very good.

Fire Gutho into centre.Theres a team there they just need the right mix off the park like us which will be key.

  • I know I've been critical of our club's football department particularly the R&R but fook me at least we are not the Dragons. What a shitshow that joint is. They sack their Head Coach, now they can't even decide on who the interim Coach should be (apparently a few of the Illawarra side of the Board don't want Dean Young) so they've cancelled training for today. The new interim coach will be announced tomorrow lunchtime, meaning they'll only have a few hours to name their side for this weekend's game. That club is a disaster!

    • Reckon they will go with Mick ENNIS. Probably need to pull the band aid now but they will wanmt try and keep the playing group slightly motivated.

  • He needs a juiced team to win.....thats pretty obvious....after the peptides stuff should of never got a gig again.

Wonder if BA will head over .....

  • Whats the chances for a Keaon Koloamatangi back flip lol

    • He apparently said the other day he will be there. So who knows.

Parra has always seemed to play well against them for those reasons, against some of the other sides, we have never had speed to match them. I think a strong…"
