Hayne's pass to Grothe

Just an aside to the discussion on the sharks game - whilst the pass from Hayne to Grothe that was disallowed ending up travelling about two metres forward, I thought it went clearly backwards out of Hayne's hands.Of course we were never going to get that call after the tigers game.

  • I think after the Eels v Sea Eagles match that anything that travels forward...even if it travels out of the hands backwards...will be deemed forward. The refs and touchies were smashed in the media over those calls and will err on the safe side.
  • Yeah I that's right - it was the sea eagles not the tigers wasn't it! Getting the games mixed up already!
  • I thought it was forward out of his hands. With a pass thrown that quick, it can't float that far forward to be thrown backwards. I think the pass was just a result of not being 100% commited. A bit like the pass later when the game was gooone, not 100% commited to it. Just like the rest of the team, we are all waiting for something to happen. Work harder boys!
  • I thought the last pass to Ferguson score the Shark's 1st try was forward too. I reckon it was at least 2-3M forward, it was passed just on the 10m line and caught alomost halfway to the try line.... Karma I guess
  • I thought this at the time too!!! And thought the Hayne pass was line ball but don't disagree with the decision.
  • Yeh pretty much agreed, i thought hayne ball was ok but could wear the forward call at same time but please if it was forward barrets was definatley forward aswell
  • Lol haynes pass was forward by 2 metres easy
  • when i played , anything that went forward - even with momentom was a forward ------ a straight out good rule -- bring it back

and make scrums scrums again while your at it please
