Hayne/Grothe incident

Can all those who wonder why Hayne isn't picked as fullback, captain and coach of the Australian team please take careful note of an incident that occurred around the 70th minute (roughly) of the game tonight.

St George put a nicely weighted kick in towards parra's ingoal on Eric Grothe's side of the field.

Grothe, as would be expected of him, stayed up in the line in case St George ran it on the last. Therefore he had to turn and chase from a long way upfield.

Hayne, who was ambling around in the back field, instead of running 15 metres to his right to collect the football, let Grothe turn and retreat about 30 metres to get the ball giving him absolutely no chance to get out of his ingoal area.

Grothe, a winger of 11 seasons of NRL experience, got up and rightly gave Hayne the biggest spray you will see, someting I have not ever seen Grothe do.

This is simply not good enough from Hayne and unless he starts to show urgency to carry out plays that won't neccessarily make him look good, but are for the benfit of the team, he will be overlooked for custodian duties for NSW and Australia.
