  • If he fails will he get more than just the one week off?
    • To plead guilty gets you a 25% discount. As I understand it, considering he has carryover points, even without the discount, it only adds up to 1 week.
    • I think he will still only miss one week - but they have Geoff Bellew SC on the case, and apparently hes has a 80% success record.. fingers croseed all will be good...

I hope the NRL didnt use their only 'get out of jail free' card on Thurston last week
  • Problem is - a head butt is a head butt regardless of severity.
Think you will find players have been suspended for PUSHING their head into another players face so IMO he will get canned.
Too much political pressure on judiciary to let another one off. They already used up any credability they might have had by not citing Slater, Smith and White.
    • And letting JT off the hook.
    • u've gotta understand the carry over points, what Billy did was waayy worse, but seeing as Jarryd has already been charged, and has pre existing carry over points, he's fucked.
  • This one's like drink driving... you're gonna need a very sympathetic judge to talk your way out of it. So don't see it as missing a game for NSW, see it as a holiday from Parramatta.
  • Billy also had carry over points so they cant use that excuse.
  • I can totally undersand Jarryd fighting this charge.
I love the eels & understand peolpe wanting him fresh for the knights, but I think that's a bit selfish.
He's a great player and obviously wants to play these big games, we can't wrap all our best players in cotton wool. Let him play! Slatter WILL play. Who doesn't want to see that rematch?
All that being said, I don't like his chances, but my fingers are crossed that they let him play.
    • For me it's not about cotton woolling our best, it's a - what's the f@cken point playing him on the right wing. NSW should have picked him for game one at fullback and Hindy should of been captain.
