  Mate its all about the incumbent, our boy has done everything he can but until billy f#*ks up bigtime the selectors will stick with him.

  Hayne's biggest problem is the dominance of Qld players in the Australian side. Slater works well with his Qld and Storm teamate Cam Smith, and obviously has an understanding with Inglis, Folau and Hodges when their in the team. If Hayne leads NSW to an Origin whitewash and players like Jennings and the Morris boys start filtering into the Australian team he'll be handed the 1 jersey pushing Slater to the wing.

    There is a very very good chance of that this year. Except for the backs, (my) QLD forwards are a bit past their best!

  This could be a big chance to Hayne to further push his claim but I was watching a replay of the Parra Broncos game that was on Fox yeterday, the game at parra stadium, and it highlighted Hayne's major problem in that game.
  
  On two occassions he failed to attack bombs (or one was more like a chip kick) and it nearly cost us a try. He seems to just amble toward the ball when it is in the air and lets it bounce thinking he will always get a really kind bounce back towards him.
  
  It works sometimes but not others and he really has to improve that area of his game and attck the ball.
  
  Other than that he is a genius.

  Well said, I am glad I am not the only one to notice that fault in his game.
  
  It did cost us a try in the GF and in the end was the difference.
  
  But like you said, he can be a genius and his overall game will get to the same level as his flashy stuff!
