I think Seward spun that line at the time... and like a lot of deals Seward struck and things he said in the past, it's turned out to be a load of bollocks. The only way the Eels would have had first dibs on him is if he had come back to the NRL for season 2015 which was the last year of his contract with us. From here on in, I think you'll find it's open slather for all NRL clubs to make a play at Hayne if he comes back to the NRL

Wayne Beavis said a little while ago there is no way he will be back playing NRL in Australia. French Rugby maybe???
