  • I think the end was 2010...

Neil Young said it best - it's better to burn out, than to fade away.

Silly boy who simply never grew up. He'll forever be known for what he could have achieved, as opposed to what he did. And that's sad for someone with so much talent.

    • So true id suspect in a few years he won't be remembered such was the way his NRL career fizzled out
    • He had a pretty good 2014. IMO a more complete player that season who, if I think had have remained with us, we would've been playing finals in 2015. He wasn't just pulling out the flashy plays, he did a lot of good defensive work that season and saved a lot of tries on the goal line. Also did a lot of that tough work out of our end and really acted as that extra playmaker rather than be the central attacking plan. To have been awarded the Dally M that year alongside Johnathan Thurston was an indication of how consistently he performed that year.

    • His father was touted as the next big thing but failed to live up to the hype as well. Seems history is about to repeat itself.
    • Still selected for Aus, SOO and won a dally M in that period though captain. Don’t confuse his success or lack of with our clubs.

    • People underestimate how good he was for us post '09. He didn't win games the way he did in '09, but he played tough in some very bad teams. I remember when we played Manly at Brookie in 2010, they just hammered him on kick returns, but he never shirked it. He took hit after hit after hit, he didn't get the headlines the way he did in '09, but he dug deep for us between 2010-2012. By 2013 though I think he'd had enough of losing.

      • exactly and then some...opposition teams knew that was pretty much all they had to do with our lineups them days esp and just like that there goes our game plan. Soo he really copped extra attention as well...I remember Brett.

By ‘13 think the Ricky debacle was enough for everyone  to have had enough point blank :)

      • Your dead right Brett and people have forgotten  that 2009 will go down in history as one of the greatest years

for Parramatta even though we never won the GF and that was because of JH..I have been watching Parra now

for over for 50 years and I have never experienced anything like that in my entire life and thats the memory I want to have of JH.

    • Neil Young should have taken his own advice.

  • walker from manly and hayne no contract  ,are up for court this week, yesterday on tv,said walker could get 5 years max if convicted and hayne 20 years.

this is huge for the nrl....
