Hayne to 6, Moses to 7

Now hear me out before you tear me to shreds. As a follow on the “the king” blog on smart players I have to admit Hayne has always shown that he is thinking a step ahead of the rest. Last night’s example is evidence of that. This is one of many. I feel he has more between his ears than Norman and I feel that having him at 6 with Saelmon as his backup on the interchange would be a huge benefit for the side. What do others think?

  • I think that the Hayne at 6 trial has run it's course several times. I also think that he played well last night at centre.

  • Moses to 6 Hayne to fullback gutho to centre

    • X2

...Although, I wouldn't mind experimenting with Guth at 9 to have our 4 best players in the spine. Why not? The season is gone.

  • As stated Hayne at 6 has been done to death and he has failed at all atemps and should stay at center or wing as that is his best positions at the moment but if he can find some of his old form he would go well at the back as I am not sold on French. As for Moses he should be in wenty as we play more like a team and are better organised when he is not part of the team and have not see any value that he brings to the team just like when he was at the tigers.

  • I would like to see BA try Hayne at six to see if there is anything there. I certainly don't think the topic has been "done to death" - it's actually never been properly tested.

When Hayne was last at the club, he was pretty open in saying he'd be interested in moving to six later in his career. Well, guess what, it's later in his career, and if he wants to earn million dollar pay checks again, that's the position he is going to need to play.

Since then, he's played the position with some success, and even last night, seemed to be swapping around quite freely.

I've always like the idea of having players, who can shift about on the field, I think it gives you a massive advantage over today's very well-drilled defences. I think even if Hayne does play centre, it looks like he's going to drop into second receiver plenty of times, anyway.

  • Gutho 1 Moses 6 Norman 7 Mahoney 9

    • For mine, it's 1. Norman, 2. French, 3. Jennings, 4. Gutherson, 5. Jennings, 6. Hayne, 7. Moses
  • Love it. Was talking about this the other day. he showed this playing for Fiji he’s kicking game is not shit either, can put up a decent bomb
  • I have to agree with Hayne being trialled at 6 and Norman at 7 until Moses is fit. We have nothing to lose so why not.
  • We just won without Moses. Why would you have him back in the team at all? He is rubbish.

"Hypothetical question. Say Lomax doesn't go to R360 would we have him back or is he gone forever despite his release saying can't go to league for 4 years "
