Hayne set to play 5/8

Parramattas try scoring woes may be solved in the coming weeks if the rumor doing the rounds at the moment with coach Daniel Anderson considering re-visiting last years experiment of shifting Jarred Hayne into the halves at 5/8.. It is believed Hanye has matured into his current ball playing role at first or second reciever with parramatta and is better suited in the halves to spark parramatta lackluster attack. Daniel Mortimer will either play off the bench or in the lower grades to regain sum much needed confidence, Kris Keating will shift to halfback and Tom Humble will slot into his more fimilar role at fullback. The feeling is of that transformation of Darren Locker from fullback to 5/8 and there is no doubt Jarred is a special kind of talent and would be a sucess second time around. One can only assume that if he suceeds the NSW Blues may have solved there on going halves problem aswell paring Hayne and Mitchel Pearse to spark a lethal attack to challenge the Maroons. Josh Dugan would then be a walk up start to the fullback spot which no doubt he would handle..

  • Agree, Agree, Agree...thats all that needs to be said...
  • why not. then they all get a start. 1. humble 6.hayne 7. keating 9.robson. 14. morts. has to happen.
  • Sounds like its worth a try, nothing else seems to be working.
  • Why not? Might aswell give it a shot.
  • NO, NO, NO. Look obviously our problem is halfback. I though Humble played well tonight at 5/8 though i would like to see him run the ball more. Mortimer has to go back to wenty and KK can play halfback. Hopefully then we can get some structured backline movements with hayne running wider than one pass from the ruck. Hayne is a fullback. He has the strength, speed and skill to be the number one fullback. Lockyer was only moved as he got older. it is only haynes 4th year for christ sakes. In my opinion hayne needs to be playing wider of the ruck with some room to run and pass not directing from the middle of the field. As a last resort maybe put Humble to half and Mateo to 5/8?
    • Our problem is not solely at half back, i think your wearing blinkers, Eldoughan, our problems are all over the shop.
We are not playing as a team!
    • it leaves humble free at fullback to come through in support, at the moment when hayne goes to first or second reciever we dont have a fullback running through doing what billy slater does for the storm.
  • keating out he is crap
  • TOTALLY AGREE.
  • YESSSS!!!! PLEASE!!!!
