Hayne’s On the right track

Roosters sniffed around Hayne

The Sydney Roosters still have some money in the salary cap and it's interesting to note they had an appetite to spend that on Jarryd Hayne a couple of months ago.

NRL.com understands the Roosters, after learning of Hayne's desire to leave the Titans, made discreet enquiries about luring Hayne to Bondi to play in the centres alongside superstar recruits Cooper Cronk and James Tedesco.

It's safe to assume Hayne would have stood to earn significantly more at the Roosters than the $500,000 he took to rejoin his beloved Parramatta Eels, however he never really entertained anything but returning home to where it all began.

  • Roosters are massive cheats. How could they afford that legally?

    • Nothing to see Mutt; its a conspiracy against easts......

    • But they have won a competition in the last 20yrs.
  • Says more about Haynes desire to return to the Eels and BA

  • I think it's pretty funny that they don't have much to show for it, despite obviously trying to buy a premiership every year for the last 20 years or so. I reckon they will fall flat again this year.

  • Onya Haynsey!  Greedy buggers have always been after Hayne. Not to often they get knocked back with their unlimited budget. Every time he says no there a flare up in the press. Hence the “I haven’t instructed my manager to source interested Sydney clubs”

  • explains why sir nicks little bitch Kent blew up big time when hayne signed up with us and "didn't go to the market".

what these dickheads don't understand is that Hayne isn't driven by money and greed.

  • It's probably right they have 750k in cap . They would have all players on TPAs which allows them to have more quality players under the supposed cap .

I said it at the time , we were the only team that was caught cheating the cap that was not spending as much as everyone else .. we got done on the cap but i bet if the NRL disclosed what The other clubs paid players in combined salary and TPA there would be outrage and they would get sued as we would have been spending less than half a dozen clubs

  • ... At the moment.

    • Ha!
