For the second time in Jarryd Hayne's career he will line up alongside the best non-indigenous players in the NRL. This will be the fourth edition of the NRL All Stars game and is set to be an exciting match-up.
This will be the first time Hayne has played the match since the inaugural game back in 2010, when he was voted in after a 2009 Dally M season.
Whilst the game has come under fire by some spectators for increasing the risk of an injury to a star player before the season, it has been embraced by the majority of the NRL community and is enjoyed by the players involved.
Often new rules are experimented with in order to try and boost the entertainment value of the game. Whilst this year's rules are yet to be released, going off past seasons, it will be interesting.
Hayne announced his selection via social media:
Excited to represent parramatta again in the #NRLAllStarsGame up Brisbane. Thanks to every who took the time to vote :) thanks gang !

QLD bias MUST STOP. Wayne Bennent as coach of the All-Stars, a game set-up for the fans to vote for who they want and it was clear that Hayne was the favourite amongst fans yet he is shafted to the bench FOR A QLD'r. As well as the Broncos constantly getting free to air coverage which means they can get more money via sponsorship because their brand is flashed all over our TV screens Friday Nights and they are consistently awarded a 7-Day turnaround.
I agree. if the captains of the Aus and NZ teams get auto picked in their positions then the player with the most votes for both teams should also get picked in their respective positions. It's unfair to players like Hayne who can cover numerous spots all over the field.
yeah but he is also probably in the top 5 players of all time.
