Hayne endorsed by Daley

Jarryd Hayne has been endorsed by Blues coach, Laurie Daley, to be in the number 1 for the first Origin match. Manly fullback Brett Stewart was the original choice but has been ruled out for a month due to a back injury. Hayne will be given his chance to show what he can do from his favourite position. I read this on the smh and I am on my phone, if anyone could post the article that would be great.

  • LOL, Daley has to endorse him, his the only option now,

    • Minichelo? Not an option?
  • Minichello had better not be an option
  • Mini is a great player, but he was never going to get infront of JH here.

  • Jarryd Hayne's effort in his last game at fullback for the blues was top notch. I never understood how someone who rated an 8.5 out of 10 in a state of origin match was dropped for the next game...

I have recently watched every game of state of origin back to 2008, Only 1 Queenslander is consistantly good, that is Cameron Smith. All the others Thurston, Cronk, Lockyer, Slater and Inglis all individually have had plenty of bad games, quiet games, infact some have had shockers. They are lucky NSW have gifted them 2 series otherwise a few of these guys would be under pressure to keep there spots.

The best Qld team of alltime is a bit of a myth, to say we have had the worst NSW team of alltime is closer to the truth.

    • The fact is NSW has gifted QLD since 2005 by picking reserve graders like Bird, Gallen & Creagh. The Qld forwards have a field day.

If anyone can remember back to 2005 the Qlder's whinged that they were going to pull out of the series cause they were sick of getting flogged. Since then NSW has refrained from picking the best players & keep picking B grade sides.

  • Hayne has played fullback twice for the Blues, when did he not contest a ball that bombed a try? I would like to see that as i have no memory of it happening.

  • How could Stewart be chosen in front of Hayne...what an insult! Hayne should refuse to play...shove it in Daley's face!!!

  • lol, Gallan and bird reserve graders, birds been the best player on the team last year, and if you think gallen is a reserve grader theres no point even replying to you, if gallen was a qlder hed be the first player picked.
