Hayne cops leg infection

Pirtek Parramatta Eels fullback Jarryd Hayne was admitted to hospital earlier this week with a leg infection.

Hayne is now recovering well, but it is another unfortunate setback to his pre-season after injuring his hamstring in October.

The 2009 Dally M Medal winner tore part of his hamstring while training with the Australian Kangaroos prior to the 2010 Four Nations tournament.

He still has four more weeks of rehab to complete before he is back to full training.

Despite this latest setback Hayne is confident of completing a solid pre-season after Christmas and wll be back to top form as soon as possible.

Due to this Hayne will be unable to take part in today's toy relay for Ronald McDonald House at Winston Hills Mall.

However Tim Mannah, Daniel Mortimer and Ben Smith will be present to meet Eels fans!

  • I'm tipping the SWIFTS to beat the boys in the toy relay. I'm sure Cath Cox could push Tim Mannah off any toy she likes, and Susan Pratley will tower over Morts and therefore beat him to everthing on the top shelf. Plus they are much faster and "World Champions". Love the boys but I'm thinking  the Swifts will own the boys- "Girls Rule". Hopefully Jarryd will be fine, better this is now rather then some time next year.
