  i think it should come down to who performs the best in preseason training and trials, like 1eyed has pointed out k.k was our best player until injured its his time he deserves the spot if he is the form player. it sucks for whomever misses out but form not some notion of the "incumbent" should decide who starts.

  last seasons run was awesome. and for most of those games robson was in solid form. which probably means he deserves first crack at 7
  
  however.. i just believe kk has the edge in terms of flare and spark. a bit like kingston had that little bit more than m.keating.
  
  i guess only time will tell

  Kris Keating is a better player than Robson, end of story.
  
  Yes we went well with Robson in the team at the end of the season, mainly because our defense improved out of sight, and of course the Golden Child destroying teams individually. Yes Robson played his part as the link man, but honestly there just isn't enough points in him. If Kris Keating had of been in the team during our great run, then a lot more of you would have been talking him up.
  
  We all talk up Mortimer and rightfully so as he did great for us at the end of the season, but if anyone has watched junior games over the last few seasons it is clear as day that Keating was the better player of the two of them. Together though I think they will compliment each other beautifully. Keating will have a big season, and will get people talking about him I have no doubt.
  
  Another problem with having Robson in the team is that it puts more pressure on Hayne to play the playmaking role, we want Hayne playing a traditional fullbacks role and chiming in when he thinks he needs to, not touching the ball every second play.
  
  Robson as our backup is fantastic he is proven that he can slot into the team and do a solid job, but no other club would have him as their starting number 7 and we shouldn't either.

  Robson is solid at best. I respect the guys tenacity at finally nailing down a first grade spot at 26 or whatever he is - a lot of guys would have thrown the towel in earlier.
  
  But he is not the future of the club and we really should not have signed him on a 2 year deal with the amount of young halves we have already. We should have let Robson pursue an even bigger money deal elsewhere in the NRL or in Super league which he would have had a good chance of securing after the Grand Final charge.

  kris keating has the better kicking game but he is not a link man/organiser the ball wont get to mortimer as much therefor the freaky backs like inu and tahu wont get as much ball. and we need defence to be just as good as the end of last year and k.k cannot defend half as good as robbo

  With the outside backs we've got we need someone who'll get the ball to them at the right time and place and that's Robson. He clearly fits in well for mortimer and hayne as well. If our outside backs were weak it may be a different story but they're not. If people are doing the right job for the team then they are the right person. KK will no doubt be a great player for the club as well but I see him as a perfect replacement for the role that Kingston was doing. Why change what's clearly working?

  There's a few ignorant people who don't like Robson for what ever that reason is, but bottom line is he was a major reason we got as far as we did. I bet if we won the grand final these people would still want Keating in the side. Sorry blue Ngold but your comments don't make sense, you say that our defence improved, yeah thats right and Robson was a standout in defence on the right side he saved a lot of tries, and how many more points did you want the eels to score, junior footy is a different game buddy, he's playing with the big boys now. As for Hayne not touching the ball as much, geez all along Anderson has been saying he wants Hayne to have the ball in his hands as much as possible, he just needs to pick the right times and if you had your way for Hayne to play a traditional fullback we'd probably still be in last position, next your probably gonna say we should stop the off loads we got to the grand final cause of the style of footy Hayne, Robson and the rest of the guys played why change it, one last thing we're not the other teams, we are the MIGHTY PARRAMATTA EELS.
