In your personal opinions has Rugby League Improved over the years or got worse?
If improved: How? What has changed to make the game better?
If worse: How? What has changed that's made the game worse?
Will the game get better, will it expand? Is expansion the answer?
My personal opinion is the game has improved in some areas but overall I thinks it's grown worse.
I prefer the game as it was in the 60's through until the early 90's but I feel it's declined over the past 5 to 8 years. I think the judicial system and the referees, bunker has significantly stuffed the game.

The game has changed. To some better to some worse. In my opinion most of todays games are more than a little boring. I dozed of during both games today. Maybe because I'm old.
I can relate Slugg! A mixture of age and condition of the games I reckon.
Gotten worse. Can't think of another game whereas the officials have so much influence on the results.
Agreed mate. If you could be bothered please have a look at the blog i posted a few years ago regarding this.
What was the title of the blog?
Agree, I cannot stand the ridiculous 6 again crap. It's just a free ticket for referee control

nice read , well done.
Gday Wizard, sorry for the late reply Ive been away.
Yes thats it.
A couple of seasons ago, I remember they kicked off the season with the refs holding back on infringments. It was kind of like how they hold back for the State of Origin. They just let the game work it's self out and it flowed.
Unfortunately it didnt last long.
The game has both improved and gone backwards.
Some of the improvements have been
1. Try scoring on the wings after removing the corner post rule
2. The last ditch try savers over the line.
3. Tactical kicking 40/20, kicking for goal accuracy
4. The tv coverage and the nightly nrl shows
5. Six again although if you get 3 in a row i think a sin bin is in order.
6. The skill of the halfbacks and set plays with numbers in motion.
7. The evolution of the fullback position.
Gone backwards in.
1. Toughness and the staying down whinging for a penalty . soccer style
2. The wrestle
3. The constant rule breaking during the tackle, the holding down, hand on ball crap, flipping players, flopping in. pretend to get caught up.
4. The amount of professional fouls to stop a try, escorts, tackle without the ball, holding jerseys, offside, deliberate penalties .
5. Lack of real fatigue in the game
6. The amount of media personalites that hate the Eels during commentary or their news article.
I agree which is really depressing as I really live watching the footy.
