It feels weird that after the 2 months of footy where we felt we were not good enough for semis and were just making up the numbers in the finals, to now being considered a high chance of making a GF if we win tonight. It feels weird as we havent had the full season of "This is our year" instead it has been more focused on who will coach us for 2023, i have fallen victim to that too, but haven't felt that excitement all year to now is a weird feeling.
Is this BA timing it perfectly? Has he developed as a coach to get us going? Has it all finally clicked into place for what we need? All questions that could be answered tonight or in the next month. But also i believe other results have assisted us too, with Roosters and Souths having slow starts, Melbourne having a bad month and us having Warriors and Wests in back to back weeks, with Canterbury and Brisbane in back to back weeks also. Not saying that is a bad thing as when results around you help you, you still need to capitalise that opportunity and so far we have done that.
We proved against Penrith in round 20 this team is capable of being a powerhouse, BA is a quality coach no matter who says otherwise he is a top 6 coach in this comp, the question mark being can he keep himself fresh and new after so long and is he good enough to get us past week 2, jury still out for now but it might seem true this is our best chance since 09'.
The ball is in their court tonight, so far we are underdogs but i think it will be $1.90 split come kick-off, we thrive against taking on big teams and being underdogs, how do we handle being a big team ourselves?

If we win tonight. If I were a panthers fan, I'd be very nervous.
go Parra!!!!
Yep, we are the one team they wouldn't want to play
When Nathan Cleary was asked the other day which he feared the most he said the Roosters, not Parra
Who cares what big chin said? He isn't going to be honest to a journo
Exactly
I reckon he's shitting his daks as we speak..
Yeah i Roosters or Parra are equal atm in my opinion.
I said that to a mate who is a Penrith fan, his dad is let's put it nicely a person who believes his own hype and loves himself even though he has been in jail for fraud for last 8 years but i digress, his dad is like nah Parra are useless anyway and i replied that might be the case but we still beat you twice this year, the smile evaporated quicker than Manly's season after the jersey gate issue.
Penrith fans realise and know it, some avoid it and put head in sand and some accept it. No guarentee's we beat Penrith, but they will be battered and bruised from us, Penrith fans watching tonight want Melbourne to win, simple as that.
I'm far from convinced about the team but more so the coach, but if we make the grand final I will eat humble pie gladly. If we win the GF then I'll be on the sign BA for ten years band wagon.
If BA wins a title he deserves any role at the club he seeks after that, bit far to say but it is a feat. If BA get's us to week 3 then i would be more than happy with that.
If Eels win tonight and go on to make or win the GF, hindsight is always 20-20 and the path we took will be lionized as BA pulling the right strings.
If we lose tonight and get bundled out of the finals in Week 1 or 2, hindsight is always 20-20 and the path we took will be deplored as BA again pulling the wrong strings.
So, really, it's boom or bust!
