Has the 2023 NRL Season been Unusual So Far?

Has this year's NRL season been a bit unusual in comparison with previous years? This year so far there seems to have been an extreme amount of player injuries and in particular long term player injury. There's been a lot of somewhat controversial refereeing and bunker decisions. The NRL judiciary has made some strange decisions of recent the Titans captain getting off for the Mahoney incident and now the broken jaw incident with Api Korisau. The injuries to the state of origin players involving 'soft tissue' injuries. The Maroons beating the Blues with 1 less player which I think is a first. The unpredictability of the NRL ladder. It for me seems a highly unusual season so far.

  • It's all to do with cloud seeding and 5G.

    • I actually think you might be onto something Wiz. I think it's more Brown's 5 T than the 5G

  • I can say my tipping has never been worse

I've been in the top 3 in the comp for 3 years - this year I'm prob 23rd 🙄

    I know it's a closer comp but I don't suck that much

    weird season

  • I blame the world cup shorter pre seasons for some players.

Add the byes and yes the comp seems off although I actually only watch eels games now as I don't enjoy the game like I used to.

  • The NRL is being run by fools, I can't get over how inconsistent they are.

    • Hit the nail on the head, agree
