Judgement day cometh for our Harold Matthews boys.
After a scintillating season where they have beaten all comers they now take on the Cronulla Sharks in the Grand Final. The Eels romped into the big one on the back of a dominant 38-8 victory over fellow competition heavy weights, the Balmain Tigers. The Sharks booked their spot in the Grand Final by despatching the Bulldogs in convincing fashion, running out 38-18 victors.
The two teams met in Round 2 where the Eels prevailed in their tightest victory of the season walking away with the 2pts with a 22-10 win.
Parramatta have named a full strength side although there would be some concerns over the fitness of halfback Alex Seve and fullback John Fonua. Seve has been a late withdrawal from both of our victories in the finals series, although very capably deputised by Dallas Patterson, but I was told that he should be right to play tomorrow. Fonua limped off the field in the second half against the Tigers with what looked to be an ankle injury but was named to play. Dallas Patterson and Robert Afu loom as their likely replacements in the event that either fail to take to the field.
Grand Final footy can produce some funny results but I'm hoping that our boys can sign off on their sensational season with one more win!

Yep. At Leichardt Oval. If anyone sees a guy with curly hair, dressed in wenty garb and with a little bloke in more wenty gear tacking on beside me, you can be pretty sure it's me. Say hello!
