G'day my fellow eeler's. I'll try to cut the chase into what I see in what is a lack of consistent clinical smart powerhouse football culture and as well as individual attitudes in our club. Being a member since ' 79 ' i too have grown acustom to the highs and lows . They say we parra fans are an unforgivable type of supporters. But anyway what I see is today is we have a very competitive roster in the nrl but what I don't see is that since the brian smith or daniel Anderson days is there arrogant shrewd non friendly approach coaching methods ( their record speak for themselves ) you all know what iam trying to say here. Players need to adapt then coaching staff need as well. Cruel to be kind. Then so be it. This is the only area that needs addressing imo.. sorry to another arm chair critic... please parra C'MON

Brian Smith, one of the best technical coaches ever, but couldn't get his teams to lift when it mattered

  Smith was intense and it rubbed off on his players But it can also have a negative effect .In the GF , Johns turns up to the coin toss with trackies, sneakers , relaxed while Cayless has his full playing kit on, tape and all looking like he already made 20 tackles.
  Smith under achieved. BA had to pull the team out of the sewer, last year all he was doing was sidestepping shitbombs. For me this is his first real year. GO PARRA GO BA

The last coach and only coach to bring the Eels a Premiership was the great Jack Gibson, as we all know. Although the rules and the game has changed dramatically I still think if a coach can emulate some of Jack Gibson's methods it would bring success. No coach since Gibson has ever brought home 3 Premierships in a row or won back to back Premierships in 2 different clubs. Surely, Gibson's methods are worth delving into. I don't see any current issues or bad culture at the Eels and I think Brad Arthur has a lot to offer and is doing a good job considering. I also think that Brad Arthur will be the coach that will break the Eels the long awaited Premiership drought.

Hard to be consistent when we have a virtually new spine and Moses and Norman have never played together.

Also need a couple of heavy hitting middle forwards, and our spine to gel to be a top 4 side.

Why have we only signed one player for 2018 - Evans ??

  Yes we need to gel there Chief; we can only hope there are some decent signings in the fwds

SlipperyEel4: Eels have won four Premierships. Jack Gibson coached three of them. Who coached the fourth win.Alister Shaw says it was in 86 ? The coach came from the Central Coast--first name John, last name like money?

  John Monie coached them in 1986 to a Premiership win against Canterbury ! I didn't forget the 86 Premeirship. I was trying to emphasise Jack Gibson's record of 3 in a row at the Eels which has never been done since or his record of back to back Premierships at 2 clubs which hasn't been done since, namely Easts & Parra.

His record says he made 5 grand finals AAE . So who's a better coach , a coach who makes one single GF and wins it or a coach who makes 5 and loses them all ?
