Hannay or Ryles ?

If you had to pick between both which one and why ? For me it's probably Hannay due to his QLD state of origin connection and Hopgood. Could also bring some sharks across with him and seems like a calmer bloke then ryles.

  • I wouldn't pick either. They're both inexperienced and it would spell absolute disaster if the Eels board sign either. If the board picks either of these then the board need their heads read

    • See I think we need a new perspective and more modern style of play so I'm not against either of these guys getting a go and seeing what ideas they have. At worst they last a year or two and get sacked which could happen to any coach lol.

    • Correct Cumberland

  • Ryles, as I have been around players who have played with him in Group 11 who rave about him and how much they loved playing for him.

Now it is group 11 but if that's the case then he must have some form of likeability. They had Kimmorley the year prior and hated him.

    • Interesting, I'm not really against either guy getting a go and seeing what kind of team/players they bring in ect. The whole club needs a new direction and shake up.

  • Neither, but what choise do we have a piss poor weak front office a football department run by an abolute goose in O'Neil and a untested Rookie Head Coach...Id be happy to suck eggs but cant see this going anywhere if I have to choose gotta be Hannay, Ryles has been behind a control freak and been in charge of Witches Hat distribution at training and cutting the oranges and runny the BBQ grill after training .

As much as I cant stand pig head Gould he is the type we need running the show if we are to engage a rookie coach but we too clever for that at Parra.  Even Brian Smith in charge of Football may be OK.  Then again Sheens was employed to do that at the Tigers and you could see he had been out the game too long.

    • I look around the nrl and guys like Seibold are still coaching so could be worse lol.

  • Neither

  • Neither.

Ryles or Hannay are about as far from what we need as a coach as you can get.

Ryles just seems to be a Brad Arthur clone.

Hannay has a little more coaching experience but his stat's are below average.

If we wind up with either of these two, we are in a world of Trouble.

Seeing as Bennett and Madge are out of contention, we need to go with McNamara, Wane, McDermott or Holbrook.

All four have cut their teeth and had success in the ESL and are far better options than Ryles or Hannay.

In saying that, our inept club will go with Ryles or Hannay.

  • Neither. Both Rookies that can go and make all their mistakes at another club first and learn from them on someone elses dime.
