Hands

How good was Hands?

Crisp service from dummy half, made over 50 tackles.

So much more cohesion and direction, obviously the return of Gutho and Moses was a huge shot in the arm.

Lussick has played his last game for the eels in my opinion.

  • He was brilliant for someone who has played every game as 5/8 in NSW Cup when dropped back down so Matt Arthur stayed at 9.  I've seen the kid  (MA) play, goes pretty good but I haven't seen anything with his lack of size and speed to suggest he was going to leap frog Hands and parachuted in to the top 30 as was the (dads) plan. Without a change of coach Hands would never have be seen again.

    • Bert how are you bud?

Mate hats off to you - you basically called this shit out 4/5 years ago. I knew nothing about JA or MA until you mentioned them and I've kept a keen eye on both since and once again you are 100% correct about both.

JA is where his talent belongs, in Reggie's and MA has shown he has some good talent but not enough to be parachuted into 1st grade at the expense of Hands just yet, undoubtedly it would've happened soon enough if BA wasn't punted.

BA wasn't some idiot, as soon as Hands showed some promise early on he disappeared for Lussick who was only warming the seat until BOOODS could've been parachuted into 1sts again ala JA.

Its quite amazing other supporters can't see it but it's 1000% was the plan. The board intervened just in time before BA doubled down with MA.

Thank Christ they sacked BA - long live the board lol

    • Hey BERT,

Hows things you legend ? Family good ?  Missed your smart commentary here but been a bit ordinary of a season.

      RE HANDS.

He is quicker in his first two steps from dummy half, his pass delivery is flatter and quicker and I think he throws a better smash ball.  If we are going to be competitve, he needs to get 70-80 minutes and use dummy half to create . The big two will do the rest.  Like he engages marker and can tempt A defender.Thought Canterbury were very good todday. Much improved team. Defensively very strong. WE need to play them up tempo, faster play the  balls and short nuymbers raids by MOSES.

Hands has to be our 9 until he feels comfortable to give Matt ARTHUR 15 minutes.  ARTHUR is an undeveloped Harry GRANT. He can be special if played correctly.

      • Yep MA needs to give Hands 15-20min breaks. And BA def did not fast track MA. MA is only on a dev deal for 2025 and top 30 2026. Thats if he doesnt ask to leave if BA gets a job somewhere.

        • He didn't give him a top 30 spot but he absolutely made sure his pathway was cleared EA - stop defending the bloke. Did the same shit for JA.....remember he was on a Dev deal then suddenly moved into the top 30 at the speed of light not seen since Hayne. Same path was being created for MA.

Hands was our backup hooker suddenly playing in the halves to accommodate MA in Reggie's. Others can make up their own minds but to me that looks and sounds like path clearing.

Not saying MA isn't talented but his path was cleared..

      • Hey PT, all good at my end mate- I hope the same for you. Yeah, bludger of a season to date but hopefully the ship can be corrected going into next season.  Always enjoying reading your posts.

    • Heya Bert .  My parcel hasn't arrived this month ?

Everything ok on your end broseph ?

  • He was good not brilliant
