HALVES - ROBSON MUST GET THE AXE/ MORTS NEEDS TO TAKE MORE CONTROL!

Look at all the heavyweight teams in the NRL. They all have quality halves that direct the team around the park.

St George - Soward
Melbourne - Cronk

Cowboys- Thurston

Bulldogs- Kimmorley
Tigers - Marshall
Titans - Scott Prince

Seriously Robson is just not cutting it. If Anderson is deadset serious on winning a premiership then we must find a quality halfback - or anyone else but Robson! he hardly takes control when parra are on the attack, does not take line on and lacks creativity.

Mortimer must demand the ball more, he has speed and is creativity. All parra have in attack is Jarryd Hayne's cut out ball to the wings in attack. Its too obvious.
Parra couldnt manage a point against one of the worst teams in the comp..not good enough.

Unfortunately, the big problem with this is that Morts does not seem to be coping at this stage at all.

His kicking game is weak, he is not offering much direction in attack and as a result, the confidence he had last year is all but gone. Unfortunately, Second Year Syndrome is very real for halfbacks and Morts is doing it tough at the moment.

I think the worse thing that could possible be done at this stage would be to put more pressure on him. He simply cannot handle it at the moment. We need someone a little more creative in for Robbo or interchanging with Robbo to take the pressure off Morts. Enter Kris Keating. You may now all get off your seating (for Keating! :)

Robson isn't looking anything like an NRL halfback. Tim Smith well and truly outplayed him tonight, and that was with a solid but not sensational game.

Nobody looked like doing anything at all tonight and I think Hindy's missed tackle (aka one almighty fend from the winger on a much bigger man) summed up our game in one play.

Without any go forward from your forwards it doesn't matter how good your halves are. We just aren't bending the line at all which leaves no room for attack.

Morts, its sad to say looks like a rabbit caught in the hunters spotlight. Robson has and never will be a halveback that takes games by the scruff of the neck. Even more so if he has to do so much work in defence.

KK has to start. Before his injury last year he was beginning to show some confidence. That's another trait missing in big quantities in this team.

Hoping morts is just having second year syndrome. Robbo is crap. all he was good at doing was tackling. now that he cnt do that anymore. Bye bye. Kris is still yet to really prove that he is the future. but prob is our best chance. And matt keating. Well. He must be french coz he is a snail out of dummi half. these are the people in our most important positions....
no matter what kind of backline, forward pack or anything we have, Parra are runnning around with probably one of the worst playmakers combinations in the comp. def not premiership winning playmakers.
At this rate. bring on 2011.

Look at all those quality half backs except one and tell me who of them was in the grandfinal?

Robson got us there last season and can't be blamed for everything that doesn't go wrong for the Eels.

It's the team thats not playing well, RUGBY ISN'T AN INDIVIDUAL SPORT.
