Gutho's goal kicking

71%!!!

Not bad considering he's doing better than some specialists, has made all those considered easy and even made a few tough ones from the touch line.

To be honest I was expecting him to be around the 60% mark this year but he's exceeded my expectations!!!

If he closes the season at around 75% I think he will have done a great job considering we had Mick Gordon last year. We alll remember how we were left down by Sandows GKing which cost us 2-3 games that made us fail to reach the 8.

  • He very good player, he trains as hard as he plays. I'm sure if he was still at 5/8 he would have improved out of sight! Supporters here just didn't give him a chance, some very harsh towards him but the whole team wasn't playing well. Parra always start slow and build, I think we are heading in the right direction.
    • It defo helps that Gutho has solved out goal kicking conundrum we were all afraid of at the beginning of the season. Having Moses coming next year we're pretty handy in that department.

    • Actually it would be interesting to see what Moses is kicking.
    • Poor Moses is walking into a firestorm if he doesn't fire. Hope we are patient with him.
  • Yes, he has been kicking better then I thought, but he is a long way from the top goal kickers.  The really good goal kickers are in the mid 80 percent and I heard one of the opposition goal kickers was kicking at 97%.

    • Definitely. To be a specialist you need like 85% minimum. He's young still, it's his 1st season and he will only get better.

    • Adam Reynolds..what a freak. He can land them with his eyes shut whilst taking a bite out of a KFC drumstick.

  • He's done a good job, the bloke really is a keeper. Future skipper IMO.

    • Well I agree.

They called Mike Hussy Mr. Cricket. Gutho should definitely called Mr. Footy.

  • He's getting better every week. The thing I have liked about his kicking is he kicks straight with no curve on the ball. This makes him just as effective from both sides of the field.
