Anyone else get the feeling Gutherson isn't 100%
He seems slower than usual and hasn't had the same impact of a late.

I think a few players are looking fatigued and hurt, not an excuse for the season but looks the case, Paulo being the main one.
Before we played the Storm recently, Billy Slater did a big write up on Gutho and his effectiveness in positional play behind the line. The Storm then worked out how to draw him into the line of defence and exploited it. I get the impression the other teams have taken notes.
In attack, we've lost our go forward which has limited our opportunities.
I think this is the reason for him having less influence on our games of late.
Or, he's completely gassed after 3 minutes of Origin...
Might be same 'syndrome' that afflicted Hynes after his 7 minutes in game 1.

He didn't play the World Cup so his had a proper off season. Maybe his carrying an injury. As good as Gutho is sometimes I wish we had a speed star fullback out there back
No doubt he is whole hearted and has gotten us wins more then any player in our team... BUT in the clutch just doesnt have that 0.5% that the legends have at the key times.
His effort on effort style of play is unsustainable as he heads to 30.
Gutho is still the best defensive fullback in the nrl and is not called the King for nothing. He has so many credits up lets be absolutely be sure of our facts before we continue this line of commentary. And the way our defence is leaking lately we would be totally gone without him.

When a team concedes 40+ points their fullback wasn't the problem. But if they do conceded that many their fullback is going to look like a bag of shit. The best way to judge Gutherson (or any player) is to look at his output over a whole season, not just his last game. Don't forget he's had two ACL's. He lost quite a bit of speed after those.
He is probably gassed having to provide so many covering tackles because the of the shit defence elsewhere. He isn't the problem.
