Now that we've re-signed Gutho for what I consider top dollar where do we play him next year.
I consider his best position is centre and not fullback. Imo he is too slow for the position and is more a supporting fullback than an attacking fullback. That is why I consider he is best suited to centre, and the two current centres should be let go at end of year. Potentially we could have Gutho and Ethan Parry (or any other recruit) as the centre pairing next year. With Salmon I'm still to be convinced he'd make a decent NRL player and probably be let go at end of his contract.
Presently the Storm have a plethora of good young fullbacks at their disposal who've all been taught by Billy Slater, not a bad teacher imo. I think we should go hard to obtain one of those. Forget DWZ, not fast or skilful enough for me, one of Scott Drinkwater, Jahrome Hughes or probably the best of the bunch, Ryan Papenhayzen, would enhance our attack.
W-T showed last night how to handle the Storm. They didn't stand around like a deer in the spotlight like we did last week (shudder).They played with speed and passing/offloading to break up Storm's defence and attacked their right side defence. To further enhance our attack we need more speed and offloading/passing from the forwards, both Paulo and Alvaro are slow. At least Paulo is skilful so he stays but Alvaro, sorry, but his time has come. So far this year I'm positive he has concrete boots on so he must go to be replaced by an experienced, big and skilful forward.
Lastly, I've very little confidence BA can pilot this team, or even a current team like the Roosters or Storm, to the finals and seriously challenge them for a spot in the grand final. Based on his loyalty to the current players, who've let him down multiple times, and his current assistant coaches, who've never put any steel into Parra's attack or defence, I've little confidence he'll make any great changes to faciliate our progression to become a consistent performing team always in the top 8 and occassionally playing in a grand final!

- Gutherson will be fullback, he is proven to be an ok player there and he is on fullback pay for a reason.
- Arthur has failed but he is re-signed and that's the end of that.
- There is a good reason Drinkwater was ready and set to get first crack at fullback before his injury. I also note his injury is upper body. I doubt storm will let him go. I'm not so sure the other two are an improvement on Gutherson.

Dear Glen, everyone has and is entitled to an opinion. Thanks for sharing yours as ridiculous as it appears to be. There is clearly no-one in the game of any experience agrees with you regarding Gutho's best position being anything other than fullback. You obviously don't watch any of our games or you would have seen Gutho break the defensive line of opponents and run away to either score tries or to set up his supports?
