Just saw an article from SMH that was saying Gutho called Wilson when eels where trying to sign him last season and offered to vacate fullback for him to sign with us. Wilson opted to stay with dogs out of loyalty but this story shows how good a club man Gutho is tbh. Shame Wilson didn't join the club would have been a great buy

I wonder if Gutho could be persuaded to retire and take up an assistant coaches role with the club.
Fullback coach for Talagi. And would be a great trainer
I think he's still a solid fullback as long as we surround him with speed in the outside backs. He's a bit like Tedesco at the moment they don't have the speed or burst anymore but still solid. With most of our attacking plays and shifts we don't have any threat out wide currently. Lomax will help, Penisini is good but the rest is rather average
He will still do a job but we are probably getting to the point where we need more in attack out of our 1. Gutho will do a good job in the centre for us.
Gutho has been my favourite back for a lot of years but his injuries have caught up with him.
Defence has always been his greatest asset but even that is starting to fade.
I love Gutho. Great leader. But, he lacks speed and always gets pushed back when bringing the ball back
Wilson stayed for loyalty but is sitting in Cup most weeks. Better offf coming to us.
