Gutho will not win us a grand final, fair price I reckon , don't forget these players have to show there worth after last years performance.
After the game against newcastle I worried we are heading down the same path.

Just say we make the grand final i hope Gutherson playing for us because he most likely be the difference between winning n losing

You dont sound like you have it all there in the noggin. He is contracted till the end of the season and if we were to make the GF and he is available he would be playing. We will not make the top 4 let alone the Grand Final with the current squad. If Gutho ever is the difference between winning a GF then I have zero idea about match winners and my 40 years of Football knowledge has been a waste of time. I am pretty sure the odds would be about 1 mill to 1 but play lotto and let me know if you win the major.
Mickey I can't see us keeping him in the squad, let alone as captain if he signs soon for another club, because of this absolute rubbish he's pushed through the media.
It appears Gutherson is like the vast majority of players these days who only remain loyal when it suits themselves! Hes had his time at the Eels in my opinion and its time he moved on back to Manly! Its all about dollars these days nothing compared to when players worked and played League on weekends and if they were good enough and lucky enough to get a contract most players stayed loyal to 1 club or 2 in the careers! Them days are long gone butbthe most frustrating and sickening part for the fans is to hear their ugly dribble and look at their greedy faces on the television.
I don't necessarily have a problem with him not being loyal, and I would expect the club to move on players who no longer fit their plans as they have done with Norman. I am concerned however that Gutho may make a terrible mistake, and I have no doubt that both Parra and he will be worse off if he left for another club.
Guth has done a stand up job and given above and beyond while he has been here. Can’t ask more. He needs to do what is in his best interest.
I only hope he does not take more cap than he is due as that will stop us from winning a premiership and be in no ones best interest
Gutherson is our third best player behind Nathan Brown and Blake Ferguson. But he happens to be in a position more important than lock and winger so he's our most important overall player. But look at us, we're the wooden spooners. He should be paid accordingly.
He certainly won't win us a grand final if he doesn't stick around. If that's the case then he will end up nothing more than a mention in the Parra chronicles. If he did stay and did happen to lead us to a premiership he'd be the absolute king and immortalised legend and have his own statue at the gates. Short term pain for long term gain. Big choice for a young fella but listening to creeps like Ayoub is not in his best interests. Unfortunately it seems he hasn't got any modern day premiership winning role models at the club that can talk with him about loyalty and team values.

A team of Guthos to win a comp is an absurd saying. Slow no lateral movement no kicking game no defence no size. But hey he is a great support player we need 17 of them. Who is going to make the busts make the meters and kick the ball into touch on the 6th.

Gutho's time is up at the EELS the damage has been done, he has left parra no option but to withdraw the offer and look at finding another fullback for 2020. The guy is worth 500k max for 2 years. If he took that offer he would be smarter. He then might improve as a player make the rep teams and his next contract could be upwards of 850k which would make up for the difference of 650 being bandied around. If Gutho thinks this is his final contract at the age of 24 then he has no confidence to last 4 years and wants his pay now. Parra should pull out ASAP otherwise they will end up spending another 5 years trying to get a good clear cap to purchase and retain the best talent in prime positions.
Also what are we gonna do if mahony wants 500k after a stellar seaon since he is on a 1 year agreement. Think about the long term damage to the entire squad paying overs for a guy who is just the capt not the game breaker not the marquee.
I just question everyone who thinks Gutho is the man. He is far from the man. I remember his first 2 months and wanted him gone. I like him now but I dont like a guy talking himself up like he has taken parra to 2 premierships as the capt. The only thing Gutho has won as the Capt is a spoon so he should shut his big mouth up until he achieves something.
